Chapter 7

Three years passed in an instant for Zero. He trained his body, his skills, his technique, and his mana. He had also grown in height, and though there was not much muscle on him, his body looked athletic. His body also looked a lot more healthy in contrast to his original state when he had arrived on this world.

He hadn't yet become 12 years old, but he started moving on towards a village that was quite a distance away. He was supposed to take about a month to get to said village, but it took him half of that time to arrive at the village.

Zero made his way to the entrance of said village. "You said this was a village, right Shadow?," asked Zero. [It's what I have researched, yes], responded Shadow to Zero's question. [It looks way too modern for it to be a village], added Kunaigai, who was currently unsummoned.

The village had buildings positioned like that of a village, but all the buildings themselves were modern. They all looked like office buildings. They weren't that big, but were bigger than what they were all expecting.

"Time to look for that guild building," said Kunaigai. "Kunai, a helmet please." "Roger," responded Kunaigai to Zero request. A crimson helmet started covering Zero's head. It was pretty thin and it covered his whole face with a yellow glowing visor covering his eyes. The helmet looked like a ninja's mask.

He then proceeded to go through the entrance, looking for something that looked like a guild building. After a walking around the 'village' he finally found the guild building. Unlike all the other buildings, it was fortified. It seemed like it wouldn't be taken down by any type of attack by monsters. He walked through the building's entrance and examined the inside of the building.

There weren't many people around. Zero saw a quest board on the right side of the room. The quest board was not like what he expected. It was completely digital. It wasn't like a hologram, it was more like a big tablet. Surprisingly enough it had no finger prints whatsoever.

Seeing that, he thought that many people were probably out doing some quests. In the back of the room was an elevator. In the left side of the room were a bunch of chairs and couches. It was obviously a rest area as there were some people resting there.

Zero walked up to one of the people. "How can I take quests?," asked Zero to a random person. "You first have to register to the guild," responded the person. "Where can I register?," asked Zero. "The registry is on the third floor," the person responded. Zero slightly bowed to the person and went to the third floor. He wanted to see what was on the second floor, but decided to explore it later.

Once he arrived at the third floor, Zero saw a counter in front of the elevator. Behind the desk was a door that led somewhere. At first glance he wasn't able to tell what was behind the door. He walked up to the counter. "Hello, I'm here to register," said Zero to the person behind the the counter. "You don't seem to be from around here. Do you have any gold to register?," said the person behind the counter. "No I do not. Is there any way to make some gold?," asked Zero. "There was a way," responded the person. "Was?," asked Zero wondering what the way was. "You could become a porter in a party and gain some gold, but the only quest that would help with that is no longer available. It involved hunting goblins, but some sort of vengeful tribal chief seemed to make sure that goblins went extinct in the forest," responded the person to Zero's question.

[Pft! Hahahahhaha!,] Kunaigai and Shadow both started laughing out loud once the person finished speaking. Thanks to them laughing, Zero suddenly remembered something he wanted to forget.
