"Where were you in the evening of the spring night fair?"
Marvin knew well he should lie where it should seem like it was the truth. He should never lie when many would have witnessed him and his actions.
Thus he responded carefully without leaving a small leeway for Hugh to catch a lie. "I visited the fair for some time and returned home."
Hugh questioned right after without showing any reaction on his face, "Who was with you that day?"
"I was with my friends." Then Marvin listed the friends he was with. Those four friends were also there on the list.
"Did you see Princess Alora in the crowd?"
Seeing Alora isn't a crime. Hence Marvin didn't lie, "Yes, I noticed Princess Alora with Deputy General Vidor and General Arihan."
"Did you instruct your friends to bring Princess Alora away?"
"Nope."
"You mean, you had no idea what your friends were going to do that night?"
