II. You're going nowhere with her.

“Jamal I know that this will sound crazy but . . . If there's any reason you're suffering now then that's because you never considered me as your friend. I was always there for you. I did everything you asked of me. But above everything you choosed Amid to be your assistant instead of me.”

Amid shoves his hands in his pants as Dan proceeds.

“But guess what? All these while he has been the culprit of everything that has happened to you. He is the one who accessed your system. He told me to loan him money from the company and because every single time I try to talk to you about it you don't even try to listen to me I gave up trying. And you know what else?”

“He did this because he loved Myla. He wanted her for himself and was jealous of the two of you. He has always been. And she knew about this. That's why she assisted him on hiding the truth about her friend Eliz!”

Myla greets. “How dare you talk about my friend!”

“Yes, she was unaware that her friend tried to trick her by assisting Amid in his plan because of the money she needed for her health. But when she found out that Amid killed her friend she kept it to herself. She didn't report him because she had feelings for him too. Can't you ask yourselves why she hasn't seeked to know the truth about what happened to her friend? She didn't tell anyone that Eliz was poisoned. That It wasn't her illness that caused her death.”

Myla's eyes become blur and Shawnee stare at her confused. ‘What are they talking about?’

“He's right. Here are photos I took after noticing that Amid has been away from the company. He goes to meet Myla secretly. They have been meeting together since her departure.”

Latif shows up all the photos of them meeting to discuss about their private investigations.

“Jamal, now you see that your greatest enemy here is Amid. I just took advantage of your absence to do what's right. I saved your company from sinking because Amid was going to destroy everything. So you should be grateful that I took over. Because you were less present. You didn't think about what was going on in your own enterprise. You were not a boss anymore. And because I love the company, I became the boss in your absence.”

Jamal clenches his jaws staring deep into his eyes.

“And about the footages of Myla and Eliz, I was the one who took them. Amid asked for my help. I didn't notice that something strange was going on untill the end when he came to me for a pen. Here it is.” he shows the pen that was used to take Eliz's handprint.

“I have a lot of it in my office. And y'all know that these pens are not ordinary pens. At one point Eliz didn't want to work with him so he killed her. The only means he could obtain her print was from this pen.”

Myla shakes her head. How could they lie about something as big as this and have no shame.

Jamal dart his eyes towards Amid. “All these while you've been meeting up with Myla behind back.”

Amid sighs. “It's not what you think Jamal. She opted to help find out who murdered Eliz and who did that to your company. I gave you all the evidences.”

“Then why didn't you tell me? I was sick worried about her the other day she passed out and you couldn't give her contact to me. Do you really have feelings for her?”

Amid steps closer to him and he warns with his eyes. “No. You know I don't. Myla will never do this to you. She just used me to privately investigate what happened. She cares for you Jamal. Stop listening to what they're saying.”

“Just shut up! Shut up you liar! I trusted you when Jamal made you his assistant. You've been so close to this family. And the only way you could pay us is by doing this!” Mrs. Mehdi scolds.

Patricia moves towards her mom. “Mom I believe him. Amid is telling the truth. He gave me Myla's number so I could meet up with her. He told me about their secret gathering and how she has been trying to find out who trapped Jamal.”

Myla looks at Patricia, understanding settling in.

“Even you Patricia. You kept this from me.” Jamal turns to his sister.

“Jamal . . . please believe us. I would never lie against you over something bad. I told you I was going to meet up with her to discuss about my birthday party. If I found out that she was going out with Amid I would've told you. The only person who could murder Eliz her is Latif! Can't you see that this whole thing is a false act. She's trying to separate both of you and that's why she bought Shawnee to the party. Not because she wanted to gift me.”

Latif breaths batardly. Her mommy matches forward. “I won't accept any false accusations against my daughter. You have no prove. My daughter has always tried to safe this family from the true assassin. She has come out with several proves but none of you took it seriously. Now look at the shame you've brought upon your own family. If only you got this lady and her boyfriend locked up!”

“Enough! I respect this family but I would not allow you talk about Myla this way. We should leave.” Shae holds her hand to leave and Jamal steps between them.

“You're going nowhere with her.”

Latif's eyes bulges out as well as Mrs. Mehdi.

“What are you doing son? Let her leave this house.”

“I still have a lot of questions to ask her.” he tells and Latif comes forward to hold his arm.

“Jamal there's nothing more to ask. It's so clear what type of woman she is.”

“Let her speak.” he commands.

Mrs. Kesh drowns in anger. Myla gazes into Jamal's eyes. “What do you want me to say? That I'm not romantically meeting up with Amid. Or that Latif threatened Dan to say all these things because she has something against him.”

“Why did you chose to corporate with Amid? Why didn't you tell me that you where meeting up with him?”

“Because . . .” she sighs and looks at her feet.

“You see? She has nothing to say because she's a liar.” Latif mutters.

Jamal sends her imaginary arrows with his eyes and she wonders her gaze away.

“Listen, Jamal I can't force you to believe me. Amid was the only one I trusted to help me out. I lost hope about everything. He was the only one who believed me including Patricia. And he was the only one who could trace the culprit. Which is no one else but Mrs. Kesh and her daughter.”

Mrs. Mehdi makes a rapid move and slaps Myla on the cheek. “You slut!”

Shawnee pulls her behind him.

“Mom please stop it!” Jamal dismisses her.

“Myla told me that Mrs. Kesh came to her house to warn her. So yeah I kind of feel she's right.”

Shae knit his brows. “You kind of feel she's right? You let your family do this to her and all you can say is this! I was right then. You don't know how precious she is.”

“Don't you dare talk to me like this in my house you get that!”

“Shae please. That's enough. I wanna go home.”

He nods and holds her again but Jamal doesn't let her go.

“Do you really want to leave with him? Then you'd make me believe that whatever thing they said about you is true.” he whispers just to her hearing but Shawnee get everything.

“You already believe in what they said. Stop pretending and let her be.”

Jamal's fist smashes his face and the crowd gasp. Amid rushes to hold Jamal.

Jamal just stares at him furiously and he lets go. His mom touches his arm. “Son don't fight over her. She's a traitor and liar.”

Due to all these Dan silently finds his way out.

Myla holds Shae up and gives Jamal her most disgusted look. “I can't believe you.” her eyes are stained with tears.

The two men give each other a dreaded look before she leaves with Shae. He holds her hand and takes her out the mansion.

Jamal grounds his jaws, his chiseled jawlines printing out in the process. “What are you waiting for? Leave this place!” his mom shouts at Amid and he shakes his head towards Jamal before leaving.

Patricia swallows her tears and closes the party. This is not at all what she prevailed.

...

Shae takes Myla home and she apologizes severally for what Jamal did to him.

“Also, thank you for believing in me. I'd never forget this.”

He smiles but his face hurt so she suggested that he comes to her house so that she can clean his face up.

He refuses and accepts after she insists. He tells his driver to go while they walk in and Ms. Grayson goes whiter after seeing them.

“What happened?”

Myla spunts. “It's a long story. Please get me an icepack.”

Her manager nods and goes upstairs to get it.

Shawnee keeps staring at Myla since their ride here. “Are you ok?”

She twitches absentmindedly. “Yeah.”

That's a lie.

He knows it is. So he doesn't patronize her with more questions.

Ms. Grayson comes down with the pack. Myla takes it and gently applies it on his face.

“Can I at least know what happened to him?” her manager asks again.

Shawnee looks at Myla and she nods. “Jamal punched him.”

“What!” the woman exclaims.

“Why?” she inclines.

“We'd talk about this later.”

“He accuses Myla of meeting up with Amid his assistant. And also accuse them for being romantically involved.”

Myla shuts her eyes. Her manager looks at her and prefers to continue this when Shae is gone.
