Prologue

Across the vast stars...many light-years away from the Earth...

Suspending solely in the void of Nebulous Galaxy was a little star, one that was similar in size to a planet. The star's name was Iris, earning it's name due to its unnatural beauty that could be seen even from a distance in the void. Once home to a number of strange creatures, the star Iris used to be a region of fun, entertainment and relaxation for travellers across the galaxy. That however ended when the first fleet of battleships belonging to The Great Akul graced the skies of Iris with their presence. Iris soon became a battlefield, between the generals and commanders under The Great Akul, and its natural inhabitants and tourists. It was a deadly battle, nonetheless one-sided though, as the fleet of Akul made short work of every single inhabitant of Iris...leaving no person alive after the bloody massacre. After looting the spoils and leaving the star in a rather deplorable state, the fleet then made their way to their next targets...whichever unfortunate star it might be. Now, the once beautiful and glorious Iris was nothing more than a shell of its prior grace. The destruction laid waste to it was akin to panels adorning a soccer ball; that is if the planet were to be viewed by a third party from the void. Visible billowing smoke could be seen rising out of the star's outer regions, disappearing into specks of dust and gas into the nearby void regions. Iris...the star...had surely fallen completely from grace now...

Somewhere on the rocky terrains that once used to be filled with lush grass, a wizened figure trodded slowly albeit carefully. His long silver hair fluttered in the stormy winds of Iris...winds that had arisen after the effects on the battle on the star's trajectory in the void. He was dressed in clothes that looked human, though he was far from looking like one himself. He had pointed ears and unusually long digits, each digit easily exceeding the 150mm mark. His eyes were like that of burning calcium, bright as light, and enough to blind anyone who'd dare to stare intensely into them. His every step managed to leave a sinkhole in the already devastated ground...further adding his share of misery. He seemed to be trying to figure out what exactly had occurred on the star Iris, and was constantly stopping here and there, seemingly brooding over something whilst giving imperceptible nods. After roaming the star for time that could no longer be accounted for, he leaped to the sky in a single step, also suspending in the void just like the star.

'It's rather intriguing that such degree of harm has been caused to a star of this level...' He brooded silently, '... and by a mere mortal troop nonetheless. If such military might were to continue to expand it would certainly cause a whole lot of problems in the future.'

The sage like man standing in the void then moved to grab the space beside him. A circular mirror appeared out of nowhere into his palm. At the region between his brows, a fissure appeared and suddenly opened up to reveal a grotesque red eye. The red eye emitted an ominous light that flashed onto the strange mirror and caused a number of images to appear in fast motion. The sage like man stood silently for an eternity, watching the lifelike events that was being displayed on the mirror. When he was done, he smiled silently whilst wiping the little drops of blood that appeared at the side of his lips.

'Now things are more interesting than I expected.' He mused. 'If I were to inform those old geezers about my discovery, surely they'd all just laugh it off and mock me about it. However, this is a serious issue that must be addressed. Since I won't be able to gain support from their end, it'd be rather wise to try and solve it on my own. Though this is the first time that even I, have been posed with this tough a challenge.' A crafty smirk graced the corners of his face. 'Well I guess it's time for these old bones of mine to flex themselves a little, they sure are getting rusty.'

He made a full body stretch right after that, suddenly becoming taller by a few inches and no longer looking as frail as he did just moments ago. He stood tall and proud in the void, the sheer energy coating him enough to make the void tremble occasionally. Then with another step, he was gone from his location, his energy along with him, almost as if he had teleported...for he was nowhere to be found in the surrounding void.

A few minutes after the mysterious man disappeared, the star Iris began to rumble violently and shake endlessly. It then exploded into a massive supernova that showered nearby galaxies with its glorious lights, reaching far and wide to them, almost as if crying out in agony to its injustice...

Andromeda Galaxy...much further away from Nebulous Galaxy...

The void, the natural region of emptiness that housed the multitude of stars, was currently occupied by so great a number of warships, too many for visible eyes to see. The sheer extent of the space they'd occupied in the void was enough to fit more than a billion Earth cities at once. This fleet of warships belonged to The Great Akul, the very terror that had reduced the once graceful Iris to scrap. The feats established by this troop of warriors made them rather infamous across a number of giant galaxies, for it was rumoured that once the troop of The Great Akul had their sights set on any galaxy, what awaited its inhabitants was nothing but destruction...

In the center of this massive fleet rode a colossal warship, spanning the length of almost half the Earth itself. In the void, it looked rather similar to the miniature asteroids and meteors that would occasionally move from space to space, except this warship was designed to resemble some kind of winged creature. This was the main warship of the fleet, the one that certainly housed the major overlords of The Great Akul. Inside the main warship, a number of soldiers scrambled about carrying out orders given out by superiors. A few who were dressed in some sort of formal attire were either chatting aimlessly or giving out instructions to the many soldiers on board. At the heart of the warship itself was some sort of command center, evident in the massive supercomputers and technological devices that were present and had quite a number of people working on. The center itself closely resembled the standard Earth military war rooms, except the gadgets located here outclassed the former by far. In the middle of the command center sat a man...or something akin to one. It was an alien, with complete humanoid traits, but strangely white skin and bright blue eyes. His very hair was white, and his lips took on a very dark shade giving him a cold and deadly look. He sat in a lotus position in the center, seemingly meditating, completely unbothered by the hectic situation around him. He sat silently, not moving an inch, in fact, if one were to watch carefully it would seem he was nothing more than a statue. But that wasn't the case at all. The figure continued to sit silently for a few more minutes before his attention was drawn by a tap on his shoulder. Without looking behind him, he asked, " What is it?".

Another figure who stood silently behind him, possibly keeping watch, bent down to whisper something to him. The figure's contours resembled that of a female. After delivering her message, she silently moved to stand in position behind him. As for the one sitting, he simply looked into the distance, probably beginning to ponder over something. Then without a sound, he suddenly vanished from his position...

Somewhere in the void...

The mysterious figure appeared here all of a sudden, still sitting cross-legged even in the void, a testament of the fact that his prowess had surely surpassed certain universal limits. A few seconds after he appeared, the space before him fluctuated before the wizened man from earlier appeared in front of him. The wizened man let out a surprised smile upon noticing there was already someone floating in the void.

"I can't say I'm surprised-" he begun, but was cut short before he could go on.

"-For what reason do you obstruct me, O Supreme One?" The one sitting in the void asked with a tone that harboured no sort of respect whatsoever, a stark contrast to his inquiry.

The wizened man simply smiled then said, "It seems your old man has not been performing his filial duty as of late...it makes me wonder if I should maybe pay him a visit one day."

The one sitting just stared ahead without saying anything, however, there was evident disdain in his eyes. A small frown graced the face of the wizened man. He didn't dwell on the matter though, for that wasn't why he was here.

"I'd keep it brief, for I can see your lack of interest to entertain me." He stated."I only came here to issue a warning to you. It has come to my notice that for certain unknown reasons you have been plundering galaxies of their life forms, rendering them inept and causing disorder to the natural order. I'd advice that you stop with your campaign, for the universe will naturally find a way to restore its order and you would be heavily affected in the process. Neither your old man nor I would like to see that happen, thus I believe it is in your best interest to comply with these directives...or else I'd be forced to make a move myself." His voice took on a natural threatening tone even as he continued, and his divine looking eyes seemed to glow brighter and brighter with intensity.

The one opposite him didn't seem to have any sort of response at all. He just nodded imperceptibly, then said with a little bow of his head, "Your directives surely haven't fallen on deaf ears, O Supreme One."

The wizened man snorted then turned to look into the distance, more specifically at the fleet that was headed in their direction.

"I hope that's the case then.Next time, we wouldn't be speaking on friendly terms at all." He looked back at the addressee, then gave one final warning before disappearing entirely from the space. "If you fail to comply with my directives...then don't blame me for being too harsh on you...Akul!" His words seemed to linger about even after his disappearance. As for the addressee himself, he just continued to stare blankly ahead, his face depicting zero form of emotions, almost as if he were a lifeless doll. However a few minutes after sitting there silently, he smirked whilst thinking. 'That crafty old geezer, to presume he'd still be lingering around even after threatening me...he certainly doesn't trust me. Not like I was going to listen anyway. I'm afraid he'd be disappointed soon enough...there's certainly no way I'd back away from my plans. Especially not after I've come this far.'

He stood up from his prior lotus position, then looked in the direction the old man stared at before. 'Besides...we've all achieved a lot together...I promised I'd be victorious for their sake!'

He took a step in the void, disappearing completely also, just like the old man had done earlier...

Hello guys, this is Matio_Barney here, a.young, aspiring author who is pretty new to this field. This is my first time officially writing a webnovel and...it feels rather intriguing and exciting, an insane experience all together for me. Thus, my work is prone to contain a number of issues concerning grammar and vocabulary. I am very open to criticism about my work, but I also strongly believe that it isn't possible to satisfy the interests of each and every single one of my readers, so I'd love to apologise beforehand if you have any issues at all. However, I'd really love it a lot if you guys continue to like, comment, share and support my work.

Cosmic Conquest: Battle For Earth is a novel I've been working on for a really long time now, and I have to say that it's progress till date has been really amazing for me. This is a story about a young human warrior who rises up the ranks in his society in hopes of conquering an alien threat that promises to lay waste to planet Earth and the entire universe itself. This story would be action packed, and rather intense, l'm highly positive fans of any action genre would hundred percent love it. The progress is initially slow at the beginning, but then somewhere midway it begins to progress fairly quickly. It's also going to be quite comedic in nature, all in all, it's a story I know many are going to love. It would be a great joy for me if this story is one day able to attain heights similar to that of Solo Leveling and My Vampire System. Keep on supporting my work on webnovel, and I'd also continue to provide you with more than you ask for.

Love, Matio...
