Amelia tried not to ask. Cullen was way out of her league and she knew it. In fact, it was deeply engraved in her head not to go too far with her thinking.
However, his actions kept on saying otherwise and giving her high hopes no matter how we she tried to act oblivious.
Her main intention was to ask if he loved her. However, love was a strong word so she decided to go for the lesser language to lessen whatever consequences her question might come with.
Her body trembled slightly, as she wondered what his reply might be. Strangely, she hoped. She held on to a thread line, hoping he might say yes.
She doesn't have such feelings towards him yet. However, who knows? His reply might help her find herself.
Cullen's expression turned unfathomable. His expression softened and in the next, his expression hardened.
