Confessions of a Drama Queen

It had never crossed her mind, that Mandy Gilbert, would live in her imaginary life when the boy she had a crush on since primary school, Justin Bedington, chose her to be his wife. Mandy knew Justin for as long as she remembered. She was only able to look at him through an untouchable wall known as ‘reality’. Justin is crazy rich, the son of a CEO in a multi-billion company in the U.S. Being surrounded by countless pretty girls, selected as head of the Student Council, brilliant, a social butterfly, and a highly dedicated person he was, didn’t make Justin got easily overwhelmed by that. Though he lived in a world full of loving gaze in any where he went, he gave zero care in it—even when almost half of the girls on this planet were head over heels in him. But who knew, his final choice was Mandy. Since their dramatic and ridiculous meeting, Justin thought that girl is amusing, funny, and known as a trouble maker girl who often gets over-dramatic at school. Justin first encountered her at a party, and from then on, he knew that this girl is one of a kind, so he chose her to be his wife. But who thought Mandy would live her new life in peace? The Drama Queen faced countless dilemmas revolving around Justin; from his sexy assistant, a gorgeous widow next to their house, and also, an obsessed teenager. Mandy couldn’t stand all the girls’ hysteria every time they were around him. Adding to that, the trust that was given by Justin, made Mandy feel as if she was ignored and invisible. In Mandy’s little mind, marrying someone of her dream would lead her to a life full of happiness—as seen in fairy tales. However, marriage life wasn’t as good as she thought. Problems after problems appeared unexpectedly. Starting from Justin’s anger toward Mandy who ruined the most important event in his life, being shunned by her best friend due to misunderstanding, to the revenge carried out by her school friends that put Mandy in danger. Mandy only had her journal—the only thing she could write her feelings, lies, and all the secrets. So, how did the drama queen overcome the problems she faced and admitted all the biggest secrets that separated Mandy from her loved ones?

The Blonde Threatened Me

[Mandy's Diary at 17th y.o]

The events at Rebekah's party was something the kids here had forgotten about. But not for me. I would remember it for the rest of my life. Even the pain was still deep in my heart! Somehow, made me think Narnia was way much better than this world. Just imagine you met a portal to Narnia from a wardrobe. You would live happily with Mr. Tumnus, Aslan, all the creatures that were there. If Narnia were jam-packed with desperate teenagers, I didn't think Neverland was a problem. That place could make me a child—for who knows how long. Perhaps, forever.

See, now I'm starting to ramble.

I blew my bangs up, letting them flutter a little. I took a good look at my face in the mirror. At least I'd lost a lot of weight. I only weigh forty-five kilos. For The Most Wanted Girl, I supposed I'd fit into it if only I dyed my hair blonde or black. I guess I' was not too bad for the size of a popular girl. My skin was much more exotic than Rebekah's skin. I didn't have to spend millions of dollars to get some gorgeous tanned skin. My mother was a Bulgarian and she brought her skin color down to me.

I combed my hair with my fingers until it's neat. From the mirror, I saw Rebekah's image coming out of one of the booths, suddenly making me choke on my gastric juices. That bitch! If only I had the power to pay for what she did to me! My eyes widen in annoyance at her reflection in the mirror. It seemed that Rebekah didn't care about me. She shook her head, then walked gracefully to the sink next to me to fix her makeup.

"Look, Mandy Gilbert or whatever your name…." In the end, she turned her head to meet me. Her chin was erect a few inches, full of challenge.

Seriously, my fist wanted to fly right into her jaw. If only this whiny blonde girl hadn't cried in front of the principal and thus put me in detention, I would have been very happy to give Rebekah's face a bogey that somehow had been made up. My eyes wandered on her lips—looks like she's too obsessed with wanting to have sexy and plump lips like Angelina Jolie.

"I suggest you don't show your ugly nose in front of Justin again."

I spontaneously burst out laughing. Rebekah furrowed her brows seeing me laughing quite loudly. Even my voice hit the wall and the toilet glass. "Hell, he called you fake."

Rebekah's lips opened wide to a sarcastic reply that pierced her heart. You see, now, this Mandy was no longer under the feet of the popular students. It's about time I made a rebel gang.

A rebel gang? I didn't think having two members could count as a gang... But no need to worry, the important thing was that I would no longer be stuck in this school just because of the popular students' damn mouths!

"You're getting bold with me, Amanda."

"Guess what?" I shrugged. "I don't give a fuck." Then I gave a big smile and turned around. My hair was parted beautifully as if agreeing with me—giving the courage within me. It was unbeliable that I could refute Rebekah's trash talk! Both the angel and the devil over my shoulder even chuckled, high-fived each other giving me credit for my bravery to the Prom Queen.

But I'm sure Rebekah would teach me a hard lesson for my disrespectful and insolent words. However, as long as Patrick's brain was turned upside down and Mr. Krab was still a stingy crab, I would never give up on that fake girl—even if only she suddenly turned into Cruella.
