Confessions of a Drama Queen

It had never crossed her mind, that Mandy Gilbert, would live in her imaginary life when the boy she had a crush on since primary school, Justin Bedington, chose her to be his wife. Mandy knew Justin for as long as she remembered. She was only able to look at him through an untouchable wall known as ‘reality’. Justin is crazy rich, the son of a CEO in a multi-billion company in the U.S. Being surrounded by countless pretty girls, selected as head of the Student Council, brilliant, a social butterfly, and a highly dedicated person he was, didn’t make Justin got easily overwhelmed by that. Though he lived in a world full of loving gaze in any where he went, he gave zero care in it—even when almost half of the girls on this planet were head over heels in him. But who knew, his final choice was Mandy. Since their dramatic and ridiculous meeting, Justin thought that girl is amusing, funny, and known as a trouble maker girl who often gets over-dramatic at school. Justin first encountered her at a party, and from then on, he knew that this girl is one of a kind, so he chose her to be his wife. But who thought Mandy would live her new life in peace? The Drama Queen faced countless dilemmas revolving around Justin; from his sexy assistant, a gorgeous widow next to their house, and also, an obsessed teenager. Mandy couldn’t stand all the girls’ hysteria every time they were around him. Adding to that, the trust that was given by Justin, made Mandy feel as if she was ignored and invisible. In Mandy’s little mind, marrying someone of her dream would lead her to a life full of happiness—as seen in fairy tales. However, marriage life wasn’t as good as she thought. Problems after problems appeared unexpectedly. Starting from Justin’s anger toward Mandy who ruined the most important event in his life, being shunned by her best friend due to misunderstanding, to the revenge carried out by her school friends that put Mandy in danger. Mandy only had her journal—the only thing she could write her feelings, lies, and all the secrets. So, how did the drama queen overcome the problems she faced and admitted all the biggest secrets that separated Mandy from her loved ones?

Reception

[Mandy's Diary Today]

The party in the evening was more lively than in the morning. Many of Justin's high school friends came. Starting from Carl, the troublemaker. Ryan, the flirt. And Trevor who had a crush on Candice. They all came and laughed. Carl put his arm around Justin's shoulder, rocking him as he remembered everything they did back in school.

"And has he told you, Mandy?" asked Carl turning his gaze to me. "Back in French class, Madam Rossie found a porn magazine in her bag."

Justin hit Carl on the head while I laughed softly. Getting hit hard by Justin, Carl groaned while rubbing his head exaggeratively.

"Don't listen to him," Justin defended himself. "Ryan accidentally put it in my bag."

"Blame Nolan, Justin," Ryan said. With that words, the table filled with Justin's friends was flooded with laughter.

"Ryan put the magazine in his bag," Trevor continued, taking a sip of the margarita straight from the mouth of the bottle. "But he blamed Nolan ad got the poor kid to be punished. You know, right? No one dared to mess with any of the Bedingtons. So Madam Rossie would rather punish Nolan than Justin."

Damn! Turned out they were much crazier than Candice and I. Hearing Trevor's words, I laughed out loud. Poor Nolan.

The music in the Bedington's mansion where the party was held was replaced by the California Swag District song. Maybe this is a historic song for Justin and his crazy friends. Because Carl pulled Justin's hand from his seat, helped by the others to force Justin to stand up. Although it took a lot of effort to get him to get up from his chair, Justin was finally dragged by his friends to the dance floor. They grabbed Justin by the collar as he tried to escape, making him stay there like a prisoner.

"C'mon, dude. Let's Dougie dancing," Carl patted Justin on the shoulder repeatedly.

Justin rolled his eyes, reluctant to respond to Carl's insistence as his friends started moving on the dance floor, doing a DougieDougie dance. Justin's eyes stopped on me. I replied with my head tilted to one side, giving him a code to just follow what his friends wanted.

"C'mon, dude." Again Carl grumbled as he nudged Justin's arm. "We'll never go crazy again because you've got a life of your own now. Don't you miss your company with your friends?" Carl's tone was depressingly lowered, successfully making Justin seem to think twice.

"You guys are dicks," Justin hissed rolling his eyes again. Tired of hearing Carl's urges, Justin began to make his decision by jumping on the dance floor, then doing a Dougie dance alone.

I've never seen him do a Dougie dance. And for God's sake, he's fucking hot.

Not long after, Candice sat next to me, stirring the juice in her glass. She chuckles softly beside me while I pay little heed to her existence, instead of watching Justin intently on the dance floor. I gaped slightly, then rested my chin on seeing his shrewdness.

"I think, he would be great on the bed," Candice's tiny voice sounded in my ear.

"Yeah…" I answered subconsciously, not paying attention to what Candice said.

California Swag District's song has now been replaced with "Kiss" by Maroon 5, which automatically makes Justin change his dance moves starting with a moonwalk followed by his other friends. This reminds me of one of the balls at school with the 90s themed era. I admit Justin and his friends are good at dancing.

Justin holds out his hand towards me like code. Without waiting to think again, I jogged over to him and took the outstretched hand, then my body was pulled by him, making me spin around until my long hair fluttered in a swell. I chuckled as he dropped me down and was caught swiftly.

"Nice move, Muffin," he complimented.

"You're the master." I smiled wider.

He pulled me back until I jerked forward almost touching his chest. His fingers are intertwined between mine in slow, gentle movements according to the tempo of the song. Then I pulled myself away from him, still holding hands, staring at him behind a seductive smile as my upper teeth and lower lips met.

"Don't bite your lips, Little teaser," he said, tilting his head to one side.

"But I like it."

"Ouch." He pulls me again, making me twist back and end up in his arms. I laughed in his warm embrace. It's even warmer than the sweater my late grandmother made. "Let me feel it." His finger pressed against my chin, making me look up so our eyes met in warmth.

His lips pressed against mine as I closed my eyes to feel his warm, soft kiss. He teased me by breaking the kiss. I opened my eyes and saw his sly smile spread. Then I touched his cheeks to keep him from paying attention to me. I counterattacked by biting my lips against his. Fuck people. I don't care how many people see us kissing here.

Carl who busied himself at the bartender's table with his other friends hissed at us in a loud voice,

"Get your fucking room, Geez!"

I don't give a damn.
