Confessions of a Drama Queen

It had never crossed her mind, that Mandy Gilbert, would live in her imaginary life when the boy she had a crush on since primary school, Justin Bedington, chose her to be his wife. Mandy knew Justin for as long as she remembered. She was only able to look at him through an untouchable wall known as ‘reality’. Justin is crazy rich, the son of a CEO in a multi-billion company in the U.S. Being surrounded by countless pretty girls, selected as head of the Student Council, brilliant, a social butterfly, and a highly dedicated person he was, didn’t make Justin got easily overwhelmed by that. Though he lived in a world full of loving gaze in any where he went, he gave zero care in it—even when almost half of the girls on this planet were head over heels in him. But who knew, his final choice was Mandy. Since their dramatic and ridiculous meeting, Justin thought that girl is amusing, funny, and known as a trouble maker girl who often gets over-dramatic at school. Justin first encountered her at a party, and from then on, he knew that this girl is one of a kind, so he chose her to be his wife. But who thought Mandy would live her new life in peace? The Drama Queen faced countless dilemmas revolving around Justin; from his sexy assistant, a gorgeous widow next to their house, and also, an obsessed teenager. Mandy couldn’t stand all the girls’ hysteria every time they were around him. Adding to that, the trust that was given by Justin, made Mandy feel as if she was ignored and invisible. In Mandy’s little mind, marrying someone of her dream would lead her to a life full of happiness—as seen in fairy tales. However, marriage life wasn’t as good as she thought. Problems after problems appeared unexpectedly. Starting from Justin’s anger toward Mandy who ruined the most important event in his life, being shunned by her best friend due to misunderstanding, to the revenge carried out by her school friends that put Mandy in danger. Mandy only had her journal—the only thing she could write her feelings, lies, and all the secrets. So, how did the drama queen overcome the problems she faced and admitted all the biggest secrets that separated Mandy from her loved ones?

Fiance is Coming

[Mandy's Diary Today]

I saw Justin leaning against the body of his Spyker C8 Aileron while repeatedly checking his watch. He didn't need to graduate, work on a thesis, or all the other shit that final semester students did because he didn't even need to attend a college. As Grandma Magdalena wanted, Justin was required to replace his late father to manage their own company. So, why bother going to college if Justin's future had been determined by Grandma Magdalena? He had received private business education at home.

Justin's eyes stopped on me. He waved his hand, then I waved back.

"Mom, believe me, I would love to go home with you. But circumstances don't allow me to come with you," I said as dramatically as I could.

As if she already knew the meaning behind my words, my mom rolled her eyes upwards. Her attention was shifted to where Justin was standing. She widened her friendly smile and waved her hand to Justin.

"Okay, you can enjoy your graduation with Justin." She grabbed my hand, making me frown. A sigh of relief escaped her lips as soon as her eyes caught the purity ring I was still wearing. "If this ring is lost, Angus will become a dinner."

"Please." My eyeballs rolled. "Who wants to eat cat soup?"

The corners of my mom's lips were pulled up hyperbolic. Oh, guess I knew where my Drama Queen gene came from.

"We'll meet tonight at home and start talking about your wedding. Okay?"

Oh, shit. I hated talking about these kinds of things with adults. I mean, to my parents. Somehow something like that made me nervous. I couldn't believe I'm saying this, but… I was in my twenties. Soon, I'd have my twenty-second birthday on May 13th. People say 13 was an unlucky number. And, now I know why my life was filled with misfortune. Uh, not really! I'm going to marry the person I had always had a crush on. Someone who originally only existed in my sweet dreams. Yep!! I'm the lucky girl!

"Okay, bye Mom." I waved my hand as Mom got into her car. She drove her car out of the parking lot. As the car passed Justin, Mom waved at him, then accelerated until it disappeared around the bend.

I stepped faster towards Justin who for some time was waiting for me. Luckily Candice had plans to celebrate her graduation with her family, so I had some private time with Justin. Again I couldn't feel my heart beating once I got in front of Justin and got the honey-sweet smile I love.

"Happy graduation, Muffin," he said cheerfully as he stretched out his arms and carried me into his arms. Mmm… the smell is intoxicating. I can bear to hold him like this just to smell the musk from his body.

"Thank you, Cupcake." I wrapped my arms around his back, burying my face in his chest and breathing in the musk again.

"Stop sniffing at me like Thumbelina, Mandy." Justin pulled his arm realizing I was sniffing his scent.

My lips pursed from being compared to an ugly Chihuahua like Thumbelina. For Squidward's tentacles' sake, what kind of fool would name their dogs after the fairytale princesses?

"She-Who-Should-Not-Be-Named a.k.a. Magdalena Voldemort Bedington…." The devil on my shoulder whispered dramatically.

I wondered why Grandma Mag named her dogs after fairytale princesses. Like the female Doberman guard dog; Cinderella, who hates seeing me as much as I hate her—I'm sure at our first meeting, we must have been born sworn enemies—or Justin's Chihuahua; Thumbelina, or Peyton's Siberian Husky; Snow White, and Grandma Magdalena's puddle; Belle.

"Sorry, Justin," I sighed softly. "Well, where's my graduation present?" My lips curved into a wide smile.

"Not here." Justin's goddamn crooked smile flashed in front of me. "Come on, just come with me and we can spend a whole day celebrating your graduation."

My eyes lit up with pleasure hearing those words. I bit my lower lip, trying not to reveal the overdose smile I often show when I'm already happy like this. Justin took my hand, ushering me into his car until I suddenly stopped and shouted to his surprise.

"Wait!"

Hearing my call, Justin looked back.

"There's no Grandma Mag, right?" I asked carefully which practically made him chuckle a little.

"Of course not."

"Thumbelina?"

"Not her, too," Justin sighed in frustration. "Just the two of us."

Just the two of us! Those beautiful words flowed disrupting my brain's working system. Good! Just the two of us celebrating my graduation!

With cheerful steps, I continued my steps into the car. Justin circled the hood after closing the door for me, then positioned himself behind the steering wheel, ready to take me out of here.
