COLLEGE

Things go wrong after Jerry hooks up with a stranger at an all freshers party. * * * Bro, you gotta see the way your eyes were on her." He laughed, but less loudly this time." I won't lie, I've done it before, every guy does, she's beautiful, you gotta give it to her." "Well she's cute." She is! "She's beautiful, you know it, that's why you had a one night stand with her." I almost choked on my burger. I had to take a drink before I talked again. "What the hell man?!" I whispered loudly. "What?" "Why did you have to say that out loud like that?" "Oh. Chill, these people are too busy enjoying their burgers to listen to our Convo." He said really chilling about it. I remembered the main thing I was worrying about when I saw her earlier this morning. I didn't use a condom when we were grinding our bodies against each other that night! 'What was I thinking?!' That's what I would ask myself if I didn't have a chance to use one because I did. When I was carrying her, her legs wrapped around my waist tightly, into the room, through rough kisses, I had stopped our liplock, and had told her I didn't have a condom. She said she had some; both male's and female's actually but she didn't want us to interrupt what we were having at that particular moment. I would ask why she had both male and female condoms but she was right, it was too hot, too pleasurable, a moment to interrupt. "I can just take a pill after." She had said.

Next day.

I was waiting for Ann in front of one of the school buildings like she asked. I had called her earlier in the morning time and she wanted me to wait here for her after my class so we could meet up.

I looked left and right but didn't see her coming so i decided to sit on a tall block of stone around there.

I was scrolling through my phone when I felt two cold palms over my eyes. I held the wrist of this person, immediately taking away the hand from my eyes so I could see who it was.

"Heyy, didn't expect I would see you here." It was Jessie. You've got to be kidding me. Why did she have to be here, I thought the school was big enough to not see her at random places I go to.

I didn't say anything to her, I just stood up from where I sat on the block and picked up one of my ear pods which had fallen when she covered my eyes.

"Where are you going?" I heard her ask when I started walking away. She ran up to me and stood in front of me.

"Are you going this way? Let's walk together." She smiled but I just sighed; I guess I couldn't just walk away and she would let me.

"Jessie, please don't, not today." I told her because I wasn't really in the mood to deal with her.

"What wrong am I doing now? I just wanna walk with you, am I not allowed to do that?" She argued.

"I'm here to wait for someone, okay? You can't walk with me, very soon she will be here and we will leave together so just go ahead with whatever you came here for...I mean, you did come here for something right? To finish up some clearances with your documents?"

She locked her eyeballs to my face as I spoke, waiting for me to finish and when I stopped talking, she frowned.

"So it's a girl you are waiting for, huh?" Was that what she could pick from all I just said?

"Look Jessie, I don't want to this with you right now..." I saw Ann walking towards me; towards us.

She stopped when she saw Jessie, looking at me for an explanation.

"She stays at my lodge," I just said the first thing that came to my mind.

"Yeah, I know. I've seen her before. Did she come with you?" Ann asked, smiling dryly at Jessie.

"No, I just met her here...She, just met me." I thought I should correct my sentence because I didn't meet Jessie, she was the one who came up to me.

"Okay? Uhm, Can we leave now? Or are you guys still talking?"

"We are not talking, let's go." I took Ann's little hands and we left Jessie standing there alone.

"You are not gonna say bye to her or something?" Ann asked as we walked on."She's not leaving that spot, she's just watching us leave."

"Don't look at her," I replied her.

"Okay. Where are you taking me to? Do you even know where I wanna go?" I heard her ask another question, she laughed when I suddenly stopped walking and looked to her.

I didn't even ask where we were going to, I just wanted to get so far away from Jessie, her presence irritated me a bit.

"I'm sorry, I just..." I trailed off, joining her in laughing.

"Let's go to the park so I can show you what I wanted to show to you yesterday." She let her laughter turn into a smile.

"What do you want to show me?" I became curious.

"Not much. I actually just wanna talk, I wanna tell you some things I don't tell everyone or anyone. Will you listen?"

"What are my ears for?" I said jokingly and her laugh again.

"I'm serious though, it's a lot. I just...I just feel like I have to get it all out of my mind before I start things with you."

"Okay."

"Will you listen?"

"I will." I assured her.

We were at the park now. We both sat under the shade of one of the tall trees there. The bench was a two-sitter so it was perfect. Ann sat by my right, fiddling with her nails since we came. I didn't disturb her because I knew she didn't like to talk about her feelings much and was just trying to prepare herself for whatever she wanted to tell me.

A calm wind suddenly swept all around us, some air blowing through her long hair and making it float for some seconds. She didn't bother to rearrange her hair when the wind stopped so I decided to help her, using both my hands to take all of her hair back.

She looked up at me when I did that but said nothing. She just shoved some of the little hairs left behind her ears before looking back down.

"You don't have to talk about it, if it's gonna make you sad," I thought I should remind her.

"It doesn't make me sad," She finally said something since we came here."It's just makes me mad; mad at myself; mad at my parents; mad at everybody and everything. I hate myself sometimes, Jerry."

"Hey," I caressed her hair, I didn't want her to say any of the things she just said.

"Okay, maybe it does make me sad, maybe." She shook her head before sighing out loud."I used to be so depressed Jerry, I used to be depressed and I would attend these parties to make myself feel better...you know, putting away the bad energy and keeping up with good vibes only, that was what I did, I went out a lot, tried to be free from it but sometimes it was just too much for me to handle alone...too much."

I lifted her face to see if she was crying because I heard her sniff, but there wasn't a single tear in her eyes.

"And my parents didn't even know any of this was happening..." she continued again.
