Antonia Marco stared at the piece of metal on the table for a surprisingly long time. This was the longest time she had waited for her sister to pick her call.
She was never this late.
Sighing, she rose from the chair. Four days ago, Laurel had called her to invite her over for thanksgiving. She had remembered shunning her for asking such a ridiculous favor.
At the time, Antonia was in the lab. She had being assigned to check out the blood samples of the female prison in mates. It was a terrible job, she knew but it also did put food on her table.
Just then, the door opened and Dr. Sanders her mate who was transferred to the facility a few weeks ago walked in. Antonia teared her gaze from her colleague's frame.
'I take it she didn't pick her calls?" Sanders asked carefully. Her colleague was a sensitive one and over thought things. It was her sister she was waiting for here and everyone knew. They walked on egg shells around her.
