Chapter 77

Aaliyah

When I woke up, I found myself in my room. I didn't feel any pain. Everything seemed normal. I'd never felt this alive before.

The door creaked open, and Tristan walked in, with Hayley behind him.

"Aaliyah?"

I turned to him.

"Aaliyah?" Tristan asked again. "How do you feel? Are you okay?"

"For the first time in my life, everything feels great," I said, flashing them a smile as I rubbed my stomach. "Why am I tucked under my blanket?"

"You… well… you fell unconscious," Hayley said. "Sarah said you did something dangerous with the black magic book."

"Are you sure you're okay?" Tristan asked.

I felt a throbbing headache and groaned, rubbing my temples. "I tapped into the black magic from my mother's grimoire, and it's corrupting my mind."

"I should call Sarah," Tristan said.
