Warning: Matured content Aaliyah never thought her life would end up this way. Framed for the death of her brother’s mate, her brother punishes her for justice of his mate. But just then, the Lycan King, Tristan appears, claiming her as his mate. At first it feels like he was saving her, but it quickly turns into something far from that. Aaliyah tries to convince herself that she has escaped the nightmare of her pack and brother. But the Lycan King, Tristan didn’t save her out of love. Bound by an old Lycan tradition debt that must be paid every decade, Tristan has his own reasons for claiming her and it has nothing to do with the mating bond that they shared. Chapter 161

Aaliyah

I took a bite of the biscuit on my plate while Tristan was fully focused on his computer.

I drank from the fresh orange juice, tapping my leg on the floor. I was bored, and Tristan had been typing on his computer since morning.

We haven't talked much today. The only words we exchanged were about how he'd summoned Aiden here. Then, he returned his gaze to the computer. I assumed his meeting with the Elders an hour ago preoccupied his thoughts.

I was angry at my wolf for rejecting me when I found her. The vampire wouldn't have been able to compel me with my wolf. I would have been able to investigate my father's death that day. I could have even stopped the vampire from escaping.

I took another bite of the biscuit, chewing it slowly as I scanned the room. We were in Tristan's office.

I looked at him again, my brows furrowing when he didn't glance my way.

"You are distracting."

"Huh?"
