“Right, because chasing off a lion when I was only a pup and stealing a wolfsbane dagger for me isn’t a big deal.”
At that,Ania’s eyes grew wider, and her face shed its pallor. I didn’t want her to believe that our lives were only battle and tragedy, but I wasn’t going to lie to her either.
“He’s making things seem more spectacular than it was. When he was younger he got a bee in his hood about proving himself and attempted to confront a mountain lion.”
“A lion?”
To this, Leo just shrugged. “It felt like a suitable aim to prove myself.” “He was a late shifter,” I mock whispered to Ania. “Couldn’t modify

“Exactly, I was reckless and would have had my head given to me if it weren’t for Alexander dashing in and trying to humiliate it.”
Ania seemed a bit less afraid, and some colour returned to her cheeks. “You mentioned a dagger? And, umm, wolfsbane? Is that dangerous?”
