"Thank you so much for all your help today, Francheska. I will surely treat you for dinner once we finalized the casting." Director Jamie said as she looked at Francheska with a smile on her face.
"You are always welcome. Do not worry about it too much, Director Jamie. And I am looking forward to your dinner invitation!"
"Of course! You know that I always fulfill my promise."
"Then you should treat me for a feast. And add more desserts on it."
"Francheska, please be mindful of your diet."
Francheska pouted her lips and it made the director laughed. After exchanging a few more words, Francheska left the audition room and goes straight to her dressing room where Rissa was already waiting. Rissa already told Francheska the details about her scheduled dinner with their president. Aside from them, the CEO of T-Tech Company will also join them. Rissa did not know the whole details, but she heard that CEO Delgado requested to meet Francheska in person which is why he will be joining them for dinner.
"Tell me the truth. Do you really not know his identity?" Francheska asked.
Rissa chose the best outfit for Francheska first before she answered her question. As her manager, Rissa will never let her artist be outdated when it comes to fashion.
"When did I lie to you regarding these things? I only knew that he was called CEO Delgado. I also that they were talking about Race, but I dismissed that idea thinking it was not possible. It turns out, he was really 'that' Race we knew." Rissa answered.
Francheska leaned her body on the chair she was sitting on before letting out a sigh. She was really surprised to meet him again. After their short encounter, Francheska cannot stop herself from thinking about him. Even Director Jamie noticed her loss of concentration but she only dismissed it by saying she was just a bit tired.
Francheska really did not expect to see him again after a long time. She thought Race had already forgotten her. The last time they saw each other, they were still young and both of them had problems that needed to be solved. When Francheska left this city, she intentionally blocked all the news about Race. She needed to focus on her career first so no one will dare to hurt her or her loved ones when she comes back.
For Francheska, she does not have any time for romance. What is the use of it if she cannot even make herself improved? Francheska left the city because she does not want to remained the same. She wanted to be strong and show her enemies that they can never destroy her completely.
"I think I know who to blame." Francheska muttered to herself.
Grabbing the phone from her purse, Francheska searched for a specific phone number in her phonebook and called it. After a few rings, that person answered her call.
(What's the matter? Do you miss me already?)
"You already knew it, right?" Francheska asked straightforwardly.
(Ah? What are you talking about?)
"Leon, stop pretending. Your acting will not work on me anymore."
Leon laughed instead of answering. This confirmed her suspicions. She let out a sigh before resting her back on the car seat.
Francheska's guess was right. In her small circle of friends, Leon was the only one who has a connection with Race. Leon and Race were classmates during college. Not only that, but they were also friends.
Francheska would not be surprised anymore if she learned that Leon was giving Race any information about her. She knew that Leon was really supportive of Race to become her lover. Before she left the city to go abroad, it was Leon who informed Race about her plans.
"Why didn't you tell me about him?"
(Trust me. I am really planning to tell you that. I just forgot to inform you about it yesterday.)
"Is that one of the reasons why you followed me?"
(Hmm... You can say that.)
Sighing was the only thing that Francheska can do in this situation. This guy really dared to do hide something like this behind her back.
(Hey, are you mad at me? It was not really my intention not to tell you. I can swear to my Dino that I just forgot to mention it last night.)
"Since you already mentioned Dino, then I will believe you." Francheska laughingly said.
Dino is Leon's beloved fur baby. He is a huge black labrador that Leon got last year.
(So you met him?)
"Yeah. We met earlier while I am helping Director Jamie judging the auditionees for her drama today."
(Oh. So...)
"Leon." Francheska called his name.
(Okay, okay. I will not ask again.)
Francheska heard Leon's laugh on the other line and she can only shake her head.
"Alright. I have to go now. I still have things to do."
(Okay. Take care, Cheska. Call us if you need anything.)
After saying a few more words, Francheska ended the call. She saw Rissa was looking at her with squinted eyes.
"So what are you going to do now?" Rissa asked. "Do you want me to ban him so you cannot see him in the future?"
"Forget it." Francheska said. "If we will meet again, then we will meet. You know that I am a firm believer in fate."
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever you say."
Francheska laughed when she saw Rissa acting like she was disgusted with the word fate. For her, that word is just for teenagers. Francheska smiled when she looked at the mirror. Right. If she meets Race even if she tried to avoid him, then it must be fate.
