Rafaela had felt unspeakably startled when the image of the dragon that she had seen only in Anims had sprung up, and sort of coiled around them protectively. She had heard about holographic rooms before though, even if SkyWater station hadn't invested in such frivolous technology.

Her gaze had not lingered on the amazingly detailed form for long though, since someone far more important drew all of her attention. She gazed longingly at her father, who had come to a stop with an incredulous expression. He was truly alive, and seemed quite alert.

His gaze moved from the dragon back to her, as he asked uncertainly, "Rafaela?"

"Yes, I've been waiting for you Papa," she assured him quickly as the dragon lowered its head to block her view, and Brendan pulled her backward a step.
