Chapter 17

Cassidy sat there for a while and plundered about what Max said and wondered if it was true but she realized the only other person who knew the truth was dead. Then Cassidy remembered what she was getting ready before Max walked into the room she stood up and walked over to the stand and picked up her dad's letter. She went and sat back down on the couch and opened the envelope and took out the letter and began to read it.

Dear Cassidy,

if you're reading this then it means I have passed away. I am so sorry for all the pain that I have caused you and I am also sorry for the Heartbreak that I have caused you now after talking to your aunt I realized that I didn't need to tell you the truth about that day you walked out. I called Max that day and asked him to come to the house. We went into the study and I tried to get Max to take the deal that I had offered him when you guys started dating. I offered to give him money if he married you and gave me grandkids. When he told me that he loves you and didn't want my money and for me to keep my nose out of your relationship that is when I knew he was the one for you and before I had the chance to tell you what was going on when you stormed out of the house so that is why I made the stipulation that I did because you two were meant to be together and since I am the one that ruined it I thought that I would fix it so before I sign off I just want to say that I love you and I am very sorry for everything and please don't stay mad at Max it was all my fault so I am going to close by saying I love you my darling daughter

Cassidy sat there and kept going over in her mind everything her dad had said. so max was telling the truth and she didn't believe him. now how is she going to show Max that she was sorry for everything that she said and did to him? She knew what she needed to do and it started with her wedding tomorrow. Cassidy picked up her cell phone and dialed up her best friend Stephanie on the third ring stuff picked up.

Hi Cassidy what's up? Stuff at asked. I need your help Max was telling the truth all those years ago when he said that I didn't understand what I had overheard and now we are getting married tomorrow at the courthouse but I want to make it a special day that we both will remember for the rest of our lives Cassidy stated. Cassidy I am so happy for you I am glad you finally know the truth. Okay well you need to get your butt over here so I can give you the bridal makeover that you should have had a long time ago Steph said. Okay Steph I'm on my way over i'll be there in 10 minutes.

Cassidy hung up the phone she left Max a note telling him that she was going to Stephanie's for the night and she would see him at the courthouse tomorrow. She grabbed her keys and purse and headed out the door. Max was standing upstairs when he heard the front door open and shut so he got up and went to the window just in time to see her pulling out of the driveway so he headed downstairs. Lying on the coffee table was Cassidy's letter.
