Sereia was a lot more nosey than I thought she would be. She cornered me the moment that we were alone on campus, which didn't happen often now that we had to be so vigilant with those escaped criminals all around the ocean.
"OK, Talia, spill it." She narrowed her eyes at me, her brows dipping so much with the motion that it was quite comical. I couldn't help but laugh at her expression. In truth, I think that was the point with her.
"There isn't that much to tell you." I tried to make it seem like the laugh was both about the way she looked and what I was saying, but she wasn't buying it at all.
"Don't you lie to me, young lady." She crossed her arms and took on a look eerily like my mom.
"Don't call me young lady." I pouted a little at the word. "You're like a year older than me."
