Chapter 005 - Brotherhood

C1 City Academy: Mr. Andy's Classroom

Chesster is on his desk while looking outside the window when he saw Ace and his friends late again running going inside the classroom.

Mr. Andy as usual , he punished those four delinquent kids standing outside the room but this time they need to carry three heavy books on each hand.

Mr. Andy continued teaching after scolding those four. After an hour, Ace and his friends are now allowed to go inside and wait for their next subject.

Ace walked his way to Chesster and introduced his friends to him. First, "The Bulky hulky Guy" Ervin, Second "The Nerdy Bookworm" Mark, Third "The Handsome Shy-type" Randy and last "The Leader" Ace. They call their group as Slav Brotherhood.

They welcomed Chesster warmly and asked him if he wanted to join their group. "Do you want to join our brotherhood?" Ace asked.

"I really do want to join after all I don't know anyone besides you and Mr. Andy" Chesster replied.

"Don't worry we're not like those kinds of kids who always give headaches to the teachers." Ace followed up.

"But you guys always scolded by the teachers." Chesster replied. Ace laugh and smiled to Chesster.

Chesster just nodded to Ace. Just in time it's their last subject and it is CHESS. Their teacher entered the room, it's a tall average looking wearing eyeglasses. And the kids synchronously greeted him "Good Afternoon Mr. Norly".

"Good Afternoon kids, may I know who's the kid Mr. Andy said?" Mr. Norly asked.

Chesster stood up and greeted him with respect. Mr. Norly smiled and looked everyone especially Ace and said "Everyone should be like Chesster. He's a good example of being a good kid". While looking at Ace and company.

Without further ado, Mr. Norly instructed them to just play until the class session ends. The kids took their chess mats and play while Mr. Norly asked Chesster to play with him to evaluate him.

Mr. Norly thought to himself "I need to check if he's really his son.". They played and now on the middle game, Chesster sacrifices his queen to a rook and Mr. Norly smiled and took part on Chesster's plan to see what his planning.

Chesster simultaneously move his pieces but after eight moves, he suddenly shocked that his plan was seen through by Mr. Norly and got owned by him. He lose but he still smiling like he's the winner.

Mr. Norly looked at Chesster and saw his eyes shining colored emerald. From that point he knows that he is really his son because they have the same color of their eyes.

He asked Chesster who taught him how to play chess. Chesster replied "My father and Grandpa Edgar."

Mr. Norly was shocked because he remembered the name Edgar who Chesster mentioned. The Edgar he remembered was not an ordinary person but he was the Infamous C1 Chess Coach who made their school famous by his way of coaching the kids on playing chess.

Mr. Norly dismissed the class and hurriedly go and see Mr. Andy to confirm his doubts about it.

Good to Know :

1. Slav – one of the chess openings that start with the pawn infront of the queen move forward by two squares. (1. d4 d5...)

2. Chess Opening – it is an initial move in chess or the initial phase of the game. Also middle game and end game was a phase in chess with the opening.
