Chapter 29: What a Tease
Selene ushered Carter to the changing room, quickly checking if it was empty. Carter looked worse than a wet cat, trying to stop his shirt from sticking to his body. At least his clothes were black, per usual, and Selene smiled a bit, remembering Carter’s own advice about dark clothes and wine.
The bartender put all the salt, napkins, and a bottle of water on one of the benches and looked up at Carter, who was also staring at her expectedly. Selene struggled to figure out a way for them to get the stain off, but both of them seemed to reach the same decisions at the same time.
Carter had to take off his shirt to get the stain off and actually make Selene’s plan work.
“Can you…?”
“I suppose.”
Carter looked around the changing room, clearly uncomfortable with the prospect of getting undressed in a public setting, even if it was his own restaurant.
“Maybe the restroom?”
