Chapter 16: Making Friends
The next day was arguably one of the worst ones Selene had experienced since she moved to New York. Mind you, we are still counting her goodbyes with her family, moving in in a broom closet, and listening to at least fifteen different rejections. Selene knows a shitty day when she sees one, and this might not have been the worst in her life, but it surely made a cut for top 50.
Why was it the worst? The question is still up for debate, and we'll give Selene several options.
First, she was bartending all alone after a tragically wasteful day on Wall Street. From what she heard from the guests, many lost thousands, if not millions, today. A drop in price or some major event messing up their perfectly calculated plans. The bartender tried not to think that by a badly timed event, they meant another pandemic, or even war. Nonetheless, Selene was left all alone, managing everything that Thomas had to do.
