Help Me

DIANA POV

It's pitch dark. I couldn't even see where I'm going. In every step, I winced at the pain from the wound I got earlier. I heard Lucas screaming my name, telling me to run as fast as I could. I don't know which one is scary, the growls of the monster or the howls of the beaten wolves.

Limping through the woods and sliding down the hilltop, I climbed up the high ground again with much difficulty. Looking ahead, I finally found a trail where I can freely run to.

How can I win over a monster, when I can barely escape a human attack? Even the wolves couldn't stand a chance fighting this lycan. Staring at the blue-purple flowers on my hand and the silver dagger on my thigh, maybe I have everything with me to at least make a good fight. I'm Scott's Luna for a reason.

Dragging my aching leg, I stumbled on a slob getting my shoes stuck. Struggling, I couldn't lift my feet up. I put down the flowers and removed my shoelaces in a hurry as my fingers tremble. I crawled leaving my shoes so I could escape to somewhere else than here.

Breathing heavily through my mouth, I hobbled barefooted in the forest under the blood moon that seemed to follow me wherever I go.

The leaves started to rustle so hard as the strong winds blew. I stopped, and left my mouth open. Looking around, is this déja vu?

I can feel my heart pound from fear as I started to run unevenly on the cold wet ground not knowing where my bare feet leads me. The very same thing that happened in my dream.

Then the most terrifying part happened. I heard a deafening howl that sent all my hair raising. This is the part of my dream where I should wake up, because what will happen next is very ugly.

But, this is not a dream!

I noticed a large entity swiftly moved across me. I swallowed hard and keep my lips together tightly to seal my screams as I back away slowly.

Is this the end of Diana Clair Woodsworth? I've always thought that I will grow old until my hair turns grey. Laying on a warm bed beside the love of my life till my last breath.

I walked back slowly until my back bumped on a tree. Feeling my blood drip down my leg, I wiped it with my hand and stared at it as I click my tongue. Then an unimaginable thought came to my mind. Will the lycan calm down with a drop of my blood?

I looked at my moonphase watch, three more minutes until the moon wanes. Three more minutes of terror, three more minutes until it all ends.

Oh wait.. WHERE'S MY FLOWERS?!

Remembering where I left them, I carefully walked towards the slob behind the trees. All trees suddenly looked the same, making it more difficult to track where I came from. Then a black bird flew in circles over me before it perched in between two tall trees. It flew to me, then back to the same spot where it first landed. Is the bird showing me the way?

Call me crazy but I followed the bird. It has to be here somewhere. It must be.

Surprisingly, I spotted my shoes resting on a slob. I found the flowers just beside them. I hurriedly grabbed the stems of the blue-purple flowers and clutched it on my chest. Thank you, bird.

Now, what am I supposed to do with these?

Then I heard soft growls behind me. Slowly turning around, I looked back and saw the largest pair of eyes I've ever seen in my life. The large beast with sharp, pointed teeth and razor-edged claws that could haunt anyone's nightmares incessantly. The big bad wolf in the flesh.

A white spot on its forehead stood out on his long black fur. Just like Apollo and Scott but not as friendly, I thought.

Sitting down, I crawled backwards holding my breath as it followed me. Slowly taking out my silver dagger, I held it up together with the blue-purple flowers. I stared directly at the eyes of the predator waiting for it to make a deadly move.

Yet, something unbelievable happened.

The lycan lowered its face towards me, then started wincing and gasping, like it was allergic. I stared at the flowers and threw a stem on its face, he gasped even more. Taking this lucky chance, I ran unevenly away from the lycan.

I know for a fact that I have no match for the speed and strenght of this creature. With only one stem of blue-purple flowers left, do I get the chance to survive one more minute with the lycan?

Reaching a cliff, I thought this is the end of me. Looking down, I saw a river racing fast. I waited at the edge of the cliff with a ridiculous plan. If I can't defeat it, maybe I'll die with it.

The snarling lycan then appeared, now angrier than ever. I stepped back a little, daring to jump if he strikes. I removed the cloth tied on my leg and held it with the stem of flowers. I clenched my fist and breathe deeply as I face my fear.

Suddenly, I felt a tingling sensation and heat starting to immense from inside my body. My skin started to feel tight, and my mouth salivated a bit more than usual. Maybe my body is reacting with the adrenaline running through my veins.

In no time, the lycan ran and pounced on me as I threw the last stem of the blue-purple flowers together with the piece of cloth drenched with my blood directly to its mouth. I crouched and slide down the cliff, holding the dagger up slicing its leg, tricking the lycan to jump off the cliff with me. I screamed from the excruciating pain when its sharp claw scratched my back.

Holding onto the wall rocks, I watched the lycan turn to its human form as he fall off. I was shocked to see his face as he disappear in the dark. I uncontrollably shed a tear as I pant heavily.. I hope my eyes were deceiving me.

I gathered all my strenght to pull myself up. It has been a long night, and thankfully I survived. A black bird hovered over me again, seemingly watching my way up.

When I reached the top, a naked man whom I once saw in the tavern was startled as I struggle to lift myself up.

"Help me… please.. my.. hands are slipping", I stammered as I beg.

The man squinted his eyes at me, before he looked around. I tried to hold on and waited for him to lend me a hand, yet, this man seemed unlikely to help me. What is he doing?

"Nice piece", he took my silver dagger then stomped heavily on my hands until I lose my grip and fall into the deep abyss.

Damn.
