SCOTT POV

"What am I doing…", I bit my lower lip as I see myself go round the hospital vicinity. It's not like I want to see her, I just want to check on her.

My heart leaped when I whiffed her scent. I sighed deeply as it started to pound normally like it found its missing piece. I stopped and stared at her pale face. She still have the bandage on her forehead, but it's smaller compared yesterday. The bruise on her lip is still noticeable. She even shivered as she walked out, must be the cold.

''Why didn't you wear more clothes?'', I whispered as she waved at me for letting her cross the driveway. I'm sure she didn't see me, this car's heavily tinted.

I followed her to the parking lot like an idiot. ' Fine, I already saw Diana. I should go.', I convinced myself.

I was supposed to leave after I see her, but still, here I am, magnetized and watching her every move.

Why did she parked her car so far? It's way too dark here. I shifted my head lights to high bright for her to see where she's walking. Her legs are so thin, can she manage to walk in the cold dark night?

Diana rid her black car and drove away. She seemed alright. Being back from a bad experience then going to work is a sign she's fine, right?

I followed her out of the hospital vicinity, then went on our separate directions. My heart ache the farther I go. Then the next second, I see myself turning back and following the black car again.

"Just one more look", I said.

I saw her park near the pavement of a small café. Parked near the window, I can perfectly see where she sits. I stayed in my car like watching the television, with a view of my Luna eating alone.

Earlier today, I ate dinner with my family as we laughed out loud until our face and stomach hurts. I was thinking she's spending time with her mother as well, but here she is, having dinner alone on her first night back in the city. After her assault last night, it is rightful for her to find sanctuary with her loved ones.

What kind of family did you grow up to for you to deserve to eat alone? Maybe she's really stronger than I thought.

My heart pumped faster when her eyes started to swell. Does her food look that bad to make her cry? She started making gestures holding back her tears. Then, she broke down. Her tears were uncontrollably falling down.

At this time, I got out of my car and went inside. I want to approach her and press her close to my chest, but I was too scared she'll push me away. I asked the waitress to give her some napkin to wipe her tears away.

My heart ached.. so much.

Seeing someone cry this way does not just come from the wounds and bruises, it's from somewhere way too deep. It was kept so deep and overwhelming, it overflowed into tears. And seeing my Luna devastated this way, my heart broke.

She didn't eat.

She just paid the bill and left. She walked past me but didn't noticed me as she wiped her teary eyes. She was close, yet so far.

I still followed her. "Villa Estates", as I read the village she lives in. It's not too far from where I reside. She might've noticed me as he have changed lanes. I kept my pace. When she entered a certain driveway, I just drove ahead.

"I'm sorry, my Luna. You don't deserve all these", I said as I held the steering wheel tightly.

DIANA POV

"Lunch?", Kate knocked on the door as she asked me to go out for lunch.

Without looking at her, I kept on writing about the intern recommendations for this year's batch.

"Go ahead Kate", I said as I continue minding my own work. I skipped breakfast today because my mother went out of town for a business trip for two days. I needn't want to eat alone so I went to the hospital as soon as I woke up.

"Are you going to skip your meal again?!" Kate asked as she frowned at me.

"I'll go as soon as I'm done. You go ahead", I replied as I made a quick glance at her.

A moment later, she stopped arguing and left with the door open.

"Kate, the door, please", I said but she already left.

I went on with the files I'm working with when I felt someone come in.

"Did you forget something?", thinking it was Kate, I asked without looking. I heard no reply.

"Please don't forget to close the door behind you", keeping my eyes focused on my paperworks.

I heard the door closed.

"Kate told me to ask you out for lunch. For sure, you're not having any.", a man with a familiar voice suddenly spoke.

I looked up and smiled.

"Dr. Calvin Pearce ", Calvin is a friend from medical school. We studied together and ended up working together too. He focused on pathology, while I led my career to surgery. He has a very warm smile with prominent dimples that can lighten up a room. With a towering height, very white skin, and spellbinding hazel eyes, he catches the attention of all residents, interns and even patients. He has this brown rugged shoulder length hair that gives a head-turning vibe to the ladies.

Being friends with Calvin for a long time, he never showed interest nor attraction towards me at all. Our friendship is plainly professional and companionable. We almost share similar personalities. We don't like too many people, and we hate dramas.

"Looks like it was a good fight", Calvin lifted his brows referring to my wounds and bruises.

"Did mother called you?", Calvin is one of the rare men my mother liked to come close to me. She instantly liked him from the moment she saw him. She even onced called him a son she never had.

"She did", he smiled as he come near me and closed the file I was working on. "Lunch", he said as he emphasize the word like a command.

Calvin is a man of a few words. Few, but domineering.

Calvin and I went to a restaurant a couple of streets from the hospital. I ordered a salad, salmon and an orange juice. He's on a special diet as usual, so he's just having coffee.

"Is it time already, Calvin?", I asked as I stared on the veins at the back of my hand.
