My silent words got stuck in my throat when his fangs pierced my mark. Euphoria. Every sense in my body exploded with fireworks and I felt my brain get flooded with pleasure that I could never explain with my years of knowing English. I was shaking slightly, lips trembling as my eyes were tightly shut. Trying to keep the tears at bay due to the sudden simulation I received. [END]

Ch 38. Awakened User

Rosanna's P. O. V:

Sunlight peeked through the open window and brightened up the room significantly. I awoke in the arms of Kairos, and stilled in his embrace.

'He's still here? I thought he'd have left before I woke up...'

'But satan's hairy ass I've got classes today!'

But that didn't seem to matter when I stared at a sleeping Kairos. I brought my eyes up from his chest to his face, marvelling at the blessedness of good genes. And that innately fine aura of a gentleman he portrayed. Even in his sleep, looking like a serene picturesque jewel. But far better than the actual thing.

His jaw was sharply defined and pronounced, making his features more enviable. I could see his closed eyelines, his pointed nose in proud display and his slightly parted cherry lips enticing one to have a little taste of it.

'My studies doesn't seem important with such a face in view. Is this the reason mama advised me to run away from those disaster causing agents named men and attraction?'

'I can agree. It's not good for my heart. How does one think of studying with a stuffy, throbbing heart?'

'And why do I like the feeling of us this close?'

'Kairos isn't all bad... He's quite a decent- nope. But he's attractive nonetheless. Very. The insane urge to take risks draws me to him. Especially when I identify him as 'forbidden' and 'dangerous'. Is my good girl side revolting? Surely the smart side will persuade her to be more reasonable?'

I stared. I kept staring till I felt like a criminal. Until I became one. His flawless skin had me feeling slightly jealous but more so imaginative. How would it be to see that face tainted with blood or a creamy substan- Jael f*cking Graymond, you pervert!

Kairos' beauty should be absolutely illegal. Especially those perfectly carved brows. Nah, this guy should be doing some special care for all this.

I watched as his chest rose in a steady pace, taking in deep shallow breaths.

I was entranced by his presence. He emitted a deep aura that had me itching to know what laid within. I wanted to peer inside his depths and swim in it. Drown? No. Swim like a fish in ocean? Absolutely.

And when I turned my gaze back up to his face, gold eyes stared back at mine. With such intensity that rivalled the tension of exam week. Perhaps even more. Probably the tension one gets when solving the math questions during the final year exam.

I saw a tinge of orange in his eyes and they resembled a bright sunny artwork that could lure anyone in. His beauty was compelling but more so the depths he revealed in his eyes.

"Morning...." I muttered, averting my stare away as I shifted to distance ourselves.

I could feel the slight pause on his hand when he hesitated to let me go. His warm palm pressed on my waist but eventually he released me when I added more force to my move. Untangling our legs from our initial position.

'Don't tempt me, I say. Don't tempt me!' The Prince shouldn't be oblivious to his charm, yes?

I sat up from the bed when I had gotten out of his embrace, placed my feet on the chilly tiled floors as I stood up to walk to the bathroom.

I stared at the wall clock hanging by the side of the room and saw it was 8:47am. To prepare for my first class now was a waste.

After relieving myself, I brushed with one of the unused toothbrush and splashed water on my face.

Then I came out and met Kairos relaxedly leaning on the headboard, while a ninja like figure wrapped in a black suit knelt on one knee before him.

The ninja person was male, and his jelled brown hair and blue eyes were all I could see. The middle part of his face was covered with a red material all the way down to his neck. And the remaining parts of his body was clothed with a black jumpsuit of unknown material. Like leather but not leather.

"Lord Athanasius,"

The ninja addressed with a head bow, reverence in his tone. Kairos kept a monotonous expression while he awaited the man's next words. And I stood in awkward anticipation.

Was I evading some after crime scene? It really seemed like it. And boy was I excited.

I didn't like the prospect of being stained in muddy waters but the thrill it brought to figure out what laid beneath the dark surface always enticed me.

Taking a fleeting glance at me, which left me feeling alarmed, the ninja man said.

"Ut selim ara ni havext." (We are unsure of the attacker).

Unfortunately, I didn't understand whatever he spoke. The cautious look he earlier gave me was unnecessary seeing as how I didn't understand a word.

Except identifying 'we' in that sentence. It was Igalius. But did the ninja man intentionally speak a different language? Still Igalius was quite popular so it wasn't exactly secretive for passing information.

"Give a name and send a detailed report." Kairos uttered, a hint of irritation in his eyes.

"Corisa Campbell." The man said, reaching his hand into his pocket and bringing out a grey small envelope.

'Corisa Campbell?' That name was oddly familiar. Campbell, Campbell, Corisa... Who?

'Aniysa Campbell.' Ah, yes. Oddly similar name with Aniysa. Could it-

...Nahh, highly unlikely.

The grey envelope disappeared from the ninja man's hand in a flash and it appeared in an instant in Kairos' hand which was raised in the air.

"Rosanna?" Kairos called, turning to me.

"Mm?" I hummed with an arched brow and he gestured for me to come closer, while he opened the envelope and his eyes glazing over the content of the letter.

I walked forward and climbed on the bed, there Kairos gave the letter a last quick glance and handed it over to me.

"Return to your quarters." He told the kneeling ninja-man who very shockingly, 'blinked twice', or more accurately- turned invisible for a split second and visible for another, repeat and then poof! Gone.

That's so coooollllll. Imagine how useful that'd be after taking attendance in maths class.

Back in my former school, classes were packed to the brim and if I stayed at the back seat, maybe Mrs. Naomi won't notice. Or not.

That woman has a very uncanny skill in 'spot the difference'. You could wear a small blue ear ring to school and from afar she'd notice and immediately start her horrible remarks on your misbehaviour and how stupid it is of you to not conform to the school rules.

Emphasizing the legend of your astonishing foolishness, wondering whether you'll become a prostitute or a beggar in the future.

Or maybe you missed math class for a session, the next time you're there, she'd call you out and ask which school you came from and why you're wearing the school's uniform. And may luck be on your side when you tell her you're in 'this class'. You die, you're dead or death came.

Kairos stood up from the bed just as blink-man left. He walked to the bathroom and I was free to read the information in the letter.

And I quickly analyzed the names of my suspected assailant along with their detailed information. I skimmed over their summarized information and identified three similarities.

'Corisa Campbell, deceased.

Arina Stein, murdered.

Merilee Hawk, deceased.'

Now wasn't this story getting creepier? Why the hell were all my suspects affirmed dead people? Was this some sort of joke? Don't tell me a ghost or ghosts are after me?

Or... Necromancy? If so, shite.

.

Kairos left the room soon after he showered, and informed me that a maid will be here to deliver my meals, clothes and teleport me to the Mansion. Where I'd wait for my next class session.

Once again I was given a pass to not get apprehended by my instructors for my missing sessions. But I didn't like the fact my free passes were for life threatening situations only.

Ava created a teleportation portal and when I stepped through, I arrived at my room in the mansion. But it just didn't feel like home. Nothing in this world felt like home.

I laid on my bed and focused my mind on the shiny black watch on my left hand. Which was soon becoming my body part itself. As expected, a holographic image appeared.

I chose [Talent], wanting to evaluate the series of change that took place in my body. Ignoring the HQ message for later. Even if my curiosity was highly piqued.

I was stunned. Incredulity washed over me yet sudden happiness had me feeling hyped.

"Konah? Why did all my levels increase and what is that 'awakened user' title on my talent?" My voice held a slight tremble in excitement.

I heard the memorable system voice. Which I'd not heard in a long time. Can't say I miss it but it certainly was, greyishly comfortable. Whatever that means.

'Hello, master. In response to your physical awakening, some of your talents and skills were triggered. And all of which received significant boast by absorbing a portion of Aether. I advise you to check your newly added skills and read the HQ message to get a better understanding of GCA's mission.

And the title 'Awakened User' simply indicates that user is able to use the skills of your talents.

Also, aspire to learn more skills to avoid your future possible death.'

"Oh my, Konah, thanks for the encouragement." I was partially sarcastic but thankful for the little tips.

But I felt like having a girl-on- robot-thingy conversation with Konah, so I didn't let it end there.

"Konah, why did... Why did that Garvin dude make me and Kairos mates? I mean, why me? What makes my transmigration special? And It seems I'm not the only isekai'd human... Or creature."

'Error 199. Your access to higher level information is low.'

Konah paused for a bit while I pouted. Tsk tsk. Wicked GCA.

'However,' Konah 'said'. 'I can tell you that there are many other transmigrators with various missions. Each independent or connected to another.'

Suddenly I don't feel like conversing anymore. Is this receiving an answer or multiplying the questions?

"Kay." I muttered. And so it ended.

I exited the talent section of the holograph and 'clicked' on [Skills]. Which made me notice how this was the first time I entered this section. Huh.
