A commotion

The sentence greatly scared Thea, she knelt in front of Melody pleading to not kick her out.

You see, although she had been by Melody's side and also had been defending her over the past few years, however, that was in the past. Thea the realized that her miss is greatly unfavored and she also gets tiny pay compared to the other servants and maids in the mansion.

Therefore, she'd cotton up to the nanny in charge of the maid's allowance, she'd secretly put poison in Melody's food, and would also change her water to a dirty one secretly.

In the past, Melody did not suspect her at all and only thought that it was the other maids that were doing it and Thea had no choice. It was not mentioned in the novel that it was Thea however she pieced the two together and finally found out Thea's schemes.

Thea was also the one who was giving her "advice" on how to deal with Lizabeth, which was the reason for her death in the novel.

Melody took the basin filled with dirty water and splashed it on Thea's shocked face. This completely threw her off since she never would have thought that her miss, whom she has served over the years would do such a thing.

"If you have time to do such petty tricks then I guess that big brain of yours can be used in the streets"

Before Thea could react, Melody had already ordered some maids to take her away. Thea could do nothing but plead helplessly to her miss that has somehow changed into a completely different person.

The ruckus caused everyone to stop what they were originally doing and quickly went to see what happened. The scene before them made them shocked, they gossip among themselves and analyse what was going on. They suddenly made a conclusion

The news reached the ears of Butler Gil, who of course investigated what had happened and found out about what the maid did as well as the stealing of the lady's belongings. He reported it all to the Marquis.

The Marquis, at first took it lightly and was about to order Butler Gil to not look at it further, when suddenly his daughter whom he haven't looked after for years suddenly asked to see him.

He turned it down the first time, but as she kept coming every single day to demand him to see her, he finally gave in and let Butler Gil escort her to his office.

The Marquis' POV

I glanced down on some paper works that was given to me by butler Gil. It was a report about the incident regarding that child's maid. Although I told butler Gil to not bother me about it anymore, since that child kept pestering me to see her, it's obviously because of this incident.

'I'll look into it once and make an excuse to dismiss her concerns. She'll probably be pleased by that and won't trouble me in the future.'

As I was thinking of some excuse to dismiss that child's rants again. I heard a gentle knock on my office door.

"come in" I demanded.

A light figure of a young lady appeared, she was pale and weak however her eyes definitely did not look weak, they carried the aura of a fearless lion. Those golden eyes, her familiar red hair, and freckles.. look just like her.. I shook my head to disperse those useless thoughts.

I looked down again at the papers on my desk as I thought deeply about something. I snapped back to reality when I heard that child talk.

"Father, forgive my rudeness for barging into your office knowing that you are busy, however, I'd like to ask you a favor," she asked

"Hm, so you're old enough for that already? What is it." I asked her coldly.

"Father I know you don't like me that much, I've already accepted that fact. However, your hate for me should not interfere with the pride and honor of this family. Although I'm not favored, I still have the surname Symphony and thus am still a member of this household. If you were thinking of dismissing the issue regarding the maids stealing from this household then for the sake of the house's name and honor, i beg you to think it through. You can turn a blind eye to the abuse but I know you care more about the honor of the family." she said.

I was taken aback by her words, I did not expect her to be this sensitive, she was never like this before.

If this was like before, she would've thrown a fit for a week already, but it seems like she has grown much more mature...

I look at her properly for the first time in a decade, she resembles her mother a lot. From her red hair down to her freckles. I recall the dreams I frequently had after the incident, my dear Cynthia asking me to look after our daughter.
