CHAPTER 21:LUNCH DATE

Evelyn had just gotten back from work and felt abit stressed so she decided to stop by at her favorite restaurant and grabbed a cup of coffee.

She already sat down enjoying her coffee when she heard a male voice asking if he could sit down,she really didn't get people sometimes couldn't he understand that she was trying to relieve herself of abit of stress? although caffeine wasn't really good for her but she enjoyed how it kept her energized.

She raised her head from the cup of coffee as the stared at her uninvited guest.

He picked up the phone on the table and pressed the only number on the phone which had a tiny house drawn on it and then he placed his order.

"Table 7,one cup of black coffee and also ginger tea for the lady".Lucas said

Once the waitress arrived with the drinks Lucas took away Evelyn's coffee from her and handed it to the waiter "Throw it away".

The waitress stared at Evelyn as if asking for permission since she didn't know what to do.

"Give it back to me"Evelyn said as she stretched her hands towards the waiter who was about giving it back to her when Lucas stopped her once again.

"I asked you to throw it away".Lucas said

Evelyn really didn't want to make this hard for the waitress so she just smiled and told her to throw it away,the waitress was so grateful that she bowed and quickly ran off.

"Mr fate what was the meaning of that?"Evelyn asked

"You know your stomach hurts whenever you have coffee and you still drink it?"Lucas asked abit irritated,he knew that what he just did could ruin the chances he didn't have yet but he wouldn't let Evelyn put herself through such pain for no reason at all

"Mr fate how did you know".Evelyn said as she looked at him

"If i told you it was a dream would you believe me?"Lucas asked as he looked her in the eyes, Evelyn stared at him for a few seconds.

"Your crazy"Evelyn said as she picked up the glass of ginger tea,she had already begun feeling pain and having this ginger tea wasn't bad at all,it helped soothe the pain at least that was the only reason she didn't walk out on him.

"Am sorry about what i did,i just think ladies shouldn't take caffeine "Lucas said "was just trying to care".he slowly drank his coffee

"Well that's a crazy mentality you've got there and a crazy way of showing care". Evelyn said and rolled her eyes "Since am not allowed to drink coffee then put yours away".

"No problem ".Lucas said as he kept it away"You promised me lunch next time we meet so uhhm can we order now?"

"Sure am hungry anyways"Evelyn said as they looked at the menu booklet on the table, picked a few dishes and made an order with the phone again.

Nobody said anything as they waited for their orders to get there and break the awkward silence.

After an hour their food was brought in by two waiters,the one which seemed like he had a higher position than the one pushing the food trolley just looked at Lucas coldly as he instructed the waiter behind him to serve served their food and also pour some wine into the glass that he had kept on the table, just so it was half full.

"Excuse me do you have a problem with me?"Lucas asked since he couldn't help but notice how the waiter looked at him

"Actually i do, could you not frighten the staff working here they are not your slaves"The waiter replied

"Wow is the how this place treats it's customers?"Lucas asked abit shocked

"Well sir my restaurant treats it's customer pretty well,as miss Evelyn would testify"The waiter pointed at Evelyn who was trying to cut a piece of meat into her plate.

"Yeah George's restaurant has good services". Evelyn said at the as she took a bite from the meat on her fork. "Thank you George".

George who turned out the be the owner of the restaurant bowed and walked out.

Lucas seemed stunned as he stared at Evelyn who only cared about her food.

"What?"Evelyn asked "I can't have meat too?"she rolled her eyes as she continued eating

"Why did he have to come here cause of his employee".Lucas asked

"Well you gave his crush a really hard time,your lucky your with me or he'd have done more than that". Evelyn said as she wiped her lips with the serviette on the table and drank abit of wine.

"I did not give her a hard time".Lucas tried to defend as Evelyn just stared at him and then continued eating her food.

Once they were done with lunch they walked out of the restaurant as Lucas and Evelyn split and paid the bill equally.

Lucas really wished he could walk slower but he couldn't so he just followed her pace.

"So can i get your number or social media handle".Lucas asked as Evelyn just looked at him like he was nuts and began walking towards her car

"Well nothing is fine too,i guess"Lucas said as he scratched his head and walked towards his car, although he didn't get her number he did have lunch with her,he thought as he smiled to himself.
