CHAPTER 10: BE THE THIRD PARTY

Evelyn woke up to the sound of an alarm clock,she groaned and stretched her arm towards the left side of her bed and hit the stop button on the clock and immediately the room became silent.she stood up from the bed walked sleepily with her hair looking like a chicken coop to the bathroom so she could get ready for work.

Due to the relapse of her illness she had not been to work for 3 days now and she felt like her bones were getting stiff.

she looked in the mirror and once she saw her face she turned her face away in disgust.

"ishhhh my morning look is really not sexy,not even cute".she said as she picking up her brush and toothpaste.while brushing her teeth she went to fill the bath tub with warm water.she added a herbal mixture and an oil for relaxing the body inside the water.

after washing her mouth she took off her clothes and then took a bath that lasted longer than usual.to relax her nerves.

She went into the room connected to the bathroom,which was her changing room that was filled with lots of clothes,shoes and bags.

Once she came out she was dressed in a white crew cut formal jumpsuit with a black hand bag,she took her phone and called her assistant while walking out of the house towards her car,she placed her ear buds into her ears .

"Good morning ma". A male voice came from the other end of the phone

"Hello Dimitri ".Evelyn said with the phone on her ears.

"Am coming to the office right now so i want you to be ready for me,make sure all the files i need are on my table". Evelyn said

"yes ma'am". Dimitri replied". "Ma mr Richard was here to see you again and i was about to ask the front desk to tell him you were not in the office before you called".

"Is it urgent?"Evelyn asked as she looked at her wristwatch on her wrist while opening the car,she couldn't help taking a deep breathe as she thought about the person in question.

Richard Simpson her ex boyfriend in college or should she say secret ex boyfriend cause although she was in college her father watched her like a hawk so she kept the relationship a secret but Richard left her after simone her sister told him that she was a slut that slept with any cute guy she found at clubs and even showed him a fake chat between her and somebody.there was even a picture of her supposed slutty self partying at the club although the picture showed only the side of the persons face it looked like her,so Richard broke up with her after insulting her and sending a few of his male friends to 'satisfy' her lust as he said.thinking about this kept bringing back bad memories she had already kept locked up.

he got together with simone who was his best friend at the time and then he went to country Y to complete his training to take over his father's empire.

he came back three months ago and although he was engaged to simone now,he found out the truth and had been bothering her ever since.

"Am not sure he can wait but if he can then you can tell him to wait for me in the waiting room".She replied while started her car

"I'll do that ma".Dimitri replied and Evelyn ended the call

She began driving to Dawn holdings which took a really long time due to the distance.

Once she got to the company the doors slid open and the staff's in the company began greeting her,she got so tired of answering their greetings that she just began nodding her head.Immediately she saw Dimitri and then he began and reporting her schedule to her while they went towards the lift.

"Ma'm you have a meeting later today by 12pm with the vice president of J and J holdings,and there's an interview on the business smarts show by 1pm,you have 3 more meetings before your dinner date with Mr Christian Noah by 7pm".Dimitri said without catching his breathe,and then pressed a button on the elevator.

"That is not a dinner date,he just wants us to talk about how to further better Our partnership with his company, besides daddy and big brother are too busy to attend to him so i gave a helping hand".

Once she got in front of her office she turned around and remembered the person that had been waiting for her.

"Yes Dimitri what about the gentleman waiting for me?" She asked.

"still in the waiting room".Dimitri replied

"well you can tell him to come to my office". Evelyn said and then scanned her eyes on the retinal scanner immediately the doors opened and once she was inside it closed.She sat om her chair and then opened her laptop,within 2 minutes she heard a knock om her door.

"Come in". she said and pressed a button on the table and then the doors opened.

a man in his thirties walked in and sat down on the chair opposite her

"first of all i hope your here for business mr Richard".Evelyn said as she placed her hands on the table

"you know that whenever i come to dawn holdings am never here for business". Richard Said as he moved closer to her. "and can you please stop calling me mr Richard it sounds strange coming from you ".

"I have a lot of meetings today and i really can't use the time i should for other things on you". Evelyn said as she continued typing on her laptop

"i would like to take you out on a coffee date"he asked as he stared at her

"don't you already have Simone?". Evelyn asked as she stopped typing and stared at Richard

"you know that if you just say the word,i would leave her and break off the engagement".Richard said as he stared at her

"I was lied to eve,i shouldn't have treated you the way i did"

"Mr Richard I've told you before that everything that happened is in the past so could you please stop talking about it?"Evelyn said as she suddenly closed the laptop,she closed her eyes and held her head.

"Seriously you should focus on your upcoming wedding with simone and stop bothering me, I don't want to be the third party breaking up the perfect couple". Evelyn said sarcastically as she looked coldly at him

"you know you have never been the third party".Richard said as he tried to hold her hands but Evelyn moved it away

"Richard i want you to get out of my office and never come back again". Evelyn said as she sat up straight

"It seems Simone never told you what daddy would do when he finds out i was dating you and you sent your crazy friends to rape me".

"Rape you?".Richard asked looking shocked

"But i never did such a....". Suddenly he stopped talking as if shocked "Simone".his eyes turned cold as he walked out.

Evelyn smiled coldly as she looked at Richard going out of her office.
