You'd already gotten into a sort of routine, and felt a little off not going to Master Fu's the day after you declined the Guardian position.
But it all felt worth it when you hear the familiar knock at the balcony door.
You rush over to find Adrien engulfed in light, making you close your eyes for a moment.
When you open them Plagg is downing his cheese, then zipping away.
"Jeez, for a second there I thought you were an angel!"
"Nah, that pawsition has been filled."
"Mmhmm." You hum as you pull him inside, out of the cold.
"Beclawse who else but an angel would allow me her fafurite hoodie?" He puns, shrugging out of the hoodie and giving it to you.
"Good point. Especially since I knew you'd steal it again."
He laughs as you return the clothing to where it belongs.
You'd given it to him since you'd been late to answering his knock, as he'd come while you were out.
Before you can speak again, your doorknob rattles.
You usually lock it so nobody comes in while he's around, so nobody comes in, but there's a knock.
"Hide!!" You hiss to Adrien before going to the door.
"Why are you still up?!" You ask your sibling as they enter your room.
"I went to the bathroom. But then I heard you talking and I wanted to see Cat Noir!"
"Well he's not here."
"Then who were you talking to?"
"I was on the phone."
"Sure. Anyway, did you ask him about Career Day?!"
"Uh, no, I haven't seen him that much the past few days."
"Well hurry up and ask him! It's in two days!"
"S/n, I really don't think he'd come to your school."
"Why not?"
"He's really busy."
"But he's not fighting bad guys anymore!"
"He still has plenty to do!"
"I bet he would if you did like I said and told him that you'd-" They say, but you cut in.
"I'm not going to tell him that! Now go to bed, or I'll go get Mom and Dad!"
"Tattletale!!" They call you as they leave.
You shut and lock the door behind them, then find Adrien.
He'd jumped to the floor behind the bed, out of sight.
"Does s/n want to be a model?" He asks as he gets up.
"No, a super hero."
"Well it's definitely more interesting." He says, plopping onto your bed.
"Yeah, but anyway, apparently all their little friends have been hearing about how they know you." You groan, rubbing your eyes and sitting on the bed beside him.
"But not anything important, right?!" He says with mild panic.
"No, I don't know if it's even been mentioned how they know you, but you're still wanted for Career Day."
"I probably shouldn't, although, I am curious about what sounds like a bribery?"
You laugh, feeling your face heat up.
"I don't know if that's anything to think about."
"Are you sure? It sounds quite interesting." He says slyly.
"Wellll I'm supposed to say I'll kiss you five hundred times if you go."
"That many? Well, consider me there."
"Har har."
"Really, I'm rather easy to purrsuade."
"So I've noticed." You say, trying not to laugh.
"In all seriousness though, I shouldn't go. I don't want to get stuck trying to answer a question about how to get super powers or anything."
"You mean you wouldn't say you got bitten by a radioactive cat?" You joke, making him laugh.
"I better not. That could entice the children to go around chasing glowing cats they find in a sketchy alley."
"True. Kids will believe anything though, you could probably tell them you looked at a magic painting or something."
"Do they really believe anything? I don't have much experience with kids."
"Most of them will. I once convinced s/n that the Tooth Fairy eats the teeth."
He laughs, then says, "Maybe I could tell them a fairy granted me magical powers."
"Yeah, and tell them the fairy is a short old man."
"Or a flying cat addicted to cheese!"
You laugh at each other until Plagg wakes up and tells you to be quiet.
"At least there's no goo-goo eyes and smooching." He grumbles as he turns over on his pillow.
"We could do that if you wanted." You say to him.
"NO!" He hollers, covering his ears, making you and Adrien crack up.
"He's funny. Maybe you could send him to talk to the kids."
"Oh that'd be a great career, a kwami." He chuckles.
"You get to demand as much food as you want, sounds pretty great to me!"
"True. I could get so many croissants." He says, gaining a dreamy look, making you laugh.
"You and your croissants."
"Hey, when in Paris."
"I suppose."
"Although, I would want other food too. Maybe most kwamis will eat other stuff, but Plagg only does if it's the only edible thing around with no cheese in sight."
"Yeah, I'd probably get tired of something if it was the only thing I ate."
"Well darn. Maybe a kwami isn't the best career ever, although, you do get the powers amplified."
"Whoa, so like Kaalki could Voyage to two places at once?"
"Probably. I don't know how it works for the other kwamis, but Plagg is crazy destructive."
"Yeah, I bet Felix was bruised for a week."
"I'm pretty sure he was."
"Speaking of Felix, he hasn't said anything to your mom, right?"
"Not that I know of. Although there was something about us supers on the news the other day that included a picture and I was trying to keep her from looking at me by directing her attention to you, and talking about how you got her to the hospital, but I feel like she might've noticed."
"Do you think she'd talk to you about it if she figured it out?"
"I'm not sure. Maybe she wouldn't care, just tell me to be careful."
"Yeah. Has she visited...?"
"I don't think so. I expect she eventually will, but not yet."
"Good. He might try and tell her, but he can't actually say anything, right?"
"No, thankfully. We did that at the purrfect time."
"Whew. Hopefully nobody else will find out, too many people know as it is." You grimace.
"Yeah, well. You gotta do what you gotta do."
You grin, and take his hand.
"I hear ya."
He gives you a kiss, and Plagg doesn't object, so he must've fallen asleep.
