Unbreakable bond (II)

Shemer then accepted my hand and kneeled in front of me. With a smile on his face, he recited the spell, activating the bond.

"With the blood of thy master. I, Shemer, Timeless Warfare Conservator, a legendary artifact created from Grarhil by Bathor, blessed by The God of Life and Death, Shisesis, without any force to submit, willingly acknowledge that I will be the Servant of Evangeline Antoinette Kraevia Evernight, my Master and form an unbreakable bond."

After reciting his part, he kissed my hand. My cheeks went red. He was supposed not to do that!

Then a sword with a lock appeared on his wrist.

Then I recited my part.

"With the gods as our witness. I, Evangeline Antoinette Kraevia Evernight, daughter of the Duke of Evernight and the youngest in the Kraevia Imperial Family, blessed by The God of Blessings, Cuvean, without any force to accept, willingly acknowledge that I will be the Master of Shemer, Timeless Warfare Conservator, my Servant and form an unbreakable bond."

After I was done reciting my part, a sword with a key appeared on my wrist. Then suddenly, a golden light appeared above our heads.

This was the confirmation given by the gods as they bear witness to our ceremony. It also means that the gods approved of our unbreakable bond.

When the gods do not approve of a ceremony of an unbreakable bond, a backlash will happen. It will especially affect the servant. This may also be the reason that some servants who are forced to perform an unbreakable bond went out of their minds.

"Oh, my gosh! Congratulations, baby." Mother walk towards me and kissed my forehead.

"Father is very proud of you." Father then patted my head.

"Ok, everyone. Now that this is all done, we have to go so that little Evie can rest." Grandpapa suggested.

"I will invite everyone to the palace after three days so that we can celebrate little Evie's successful unbreakable bond ceremony." Uncle Allister said.

"While I will be done, who will plan everything. Of course, the celebration is only for us family for little Evie's safety. It will be just a lovely dinner." Aunt Joana excitedly implies.

While my brothers just waved goodbye. The only ones remaining are my parents and Shemer.

Mother then put me to bed and fixed my blanket.

"Sleep darling. You have to rest."

"Well see you later, baby."

The both of them kissed my head and walks out of my room.

"What about you?" I ask Shemer.

"As your loyal servant, I will be the one to guard you, master."

"Can I ask what your name means? The timeless warfare conservator part."

"But you have to rest master."

"I am not yet sleepy so tell me your story so that I can sleep." I urged.

"As you wish, then. My name means that I am a very proficient tactician in warfare."

"Duh! Isn't it obvious?! I mean, is that it? Plus, I thought you did not have used your power since you did not acknowledge anyone in the past as your master?"

"Oh! No one knows because it is not written in your history. I was the one who taught your great-great-great-great so on and so forth, grandfather when he had war with the Demon Army."

"But the first emperor had war with the Demon Army when the empire is not yet established. Also according to books, you are supposed to be created by Bathor when the empire was established."

I think my head just started aching again. Does this mean the history books are not accurate?

Why would they change Shemer's story?

"Master, because I was the one who told them to change the story. Some of the first emperor's enemies from the past are tricky. If someone knew that I was more than just a sword, the empire will not be established successfully. Those demons are really hard to deal with."

"Do you mean that the Demon Army is incredibly wise? But I thought demons don't have intelligence."

"The ones who are very slimy were the demons called Arch Demons. They are the leaders of the Demon Army. The ones you encountered today are just low-level demons. You will not be able to encounter an Arch Demon today because your ancestors were the ones who put them to the grave."

"Are the Arch Demons the most powerful in the Demon Army? And given the chance that the Arch Demons have been slain for a century, will they be able to return?"

"Master, as I thought, you are very intelligent! There are different levels of power in the Demon Army. The low-level demons called Majin are the most abundant in the demon race. They don't have much intelligence. They only follow the commands of the Arch Demons.

The most powerful in the Demon Army are called Ancient Demons. These demons are the kings of the Demon Army. They are very powerful. The first emperor encountered one in the past.

They battled for 5 days straight and the result was your grandfather only won by chance. Because that Ancient Demon was already wounded from the battle with the other Ancient Demon."

"Do Ancient Demons fight against each other? I thought they are allies?"

"The Ancient Demons do not get along well. They are some that want to be the only king of the Demon Army. But some just want to stay idle.

You see, Ancient Demons are humans in the past. But because of their great malice, they turned into a demon."

"How do you know that, Shemer? Do you know an Ancient Demon?" I curiously asked.
