I'm your wife

He held the glass of water and said flatly, "What do you want? Just say it."

Cathy felt a little awkward. Marvin was indeed wise. He could see through her mind. With that, she stopped being blashful. She then took the materials she had prepared and handed them to Marvin.

"This is my work over the years that I haven't had chance to publish it and also my design draft to you. I believe that my design skills are quite good."

After a pause, she mustered up her courage and said, "So, I want to ask you to give me a chance to participate in this Making The Cut Competition."

He raised his hands and took over her file. As he opened it, a trace of amazement flashed across his eyes right away. She was indeed a talented designer. All she needed was a chance and she would stun everyone.

Cathy gripped her fist nervously and looked at Marvin uneasily. She wanted to see something out of his expression, but his usual expressionless face only looked unfathomable. Seeing that he did not speak for a long time, she hesitated and asked tentatively,

Marvin, May I?

Marvin closed the folder and looked at her with a faint smile.

"You want to secure advantages through my influence?"

Cathy was at loss of words. Even if that was the case, could he say it anymore straightforward?

She hesitated for a moment and decided to put away her integrity.

"Just give me a chance on the account of our relationship. I will definitely get the best result and win the glory of our company."

"What's our relationship?" Marvin looked at her meaningfully.

"What kind of relationship?" She thought about it for a while. There was no actual relationship between Marvin and her in fact, their relationship was not close enough for her to ask his help.

Cathy hesitated for a moment and decided to say, " I'm your wife, okay? Give me a chance."

This was the first time that she had taken the initiative to admit that she was his wife. Marvin pursed his thin lips slightly and said.

"Alright"

Cathy was dumbstruck. She couldn't believe her ears. Did he really agree to it?

Seeing how shocked she was, Marvin seemed to be in a good mood. He said meaningfully, "opportunities should be given to our own people. Don't you think so, wifey?"

Cathy cheeks involuntarily flushed red and her heart skipped a beat. She bit her lips and said.

"Thank you."

"Just a word of thanks?"

Before Marvin could react, she leaned forward and kissed him on the cheek. Marvin's pupil shrank slightly and he looked surprised.

"See you later."

Cathy smile beautifully as she ran away with a slight blush.

Marvin froze for a moment before he realized what had just happened. His hand unconsciously touched the spot where he had been kissed and the corners of his lips also spread into a warm smile that had never appeared before.
