After talking about dragons, Zmays, as Vera called them, Neven realised he had forgotten something.
«I haven't called anyone to clean up a room for you,» he said. The night before, after returning from their trip, he had convinced Vera to use his bed and he had slept on the sofa in the living room.
However, doing so for the second time in a row meant that he either was an idiot or he had something in mind. If she suspected him, he wouldn't even feel offended.
«Don't worry,» she chuckled. «I'll clean up tomorrow.»
«You shouldn't. You're a guest, Vera.»
«I have a day off, so I shall do something with my time.»
«A day off?»
«Yes... I was granted a day off even with so little time in advance. I was surprised, but now I can't change my mind. It's too late.»
«Were you testing the system?» he hummed, scratching his chin. «Or the policy at the company?»
«I wanted to see whether I would truly get a day off. That's all.»
