27.Am the best choice

Tenor's POV,

" There you are , you little sneaky thing." Alexa say after Tyler enter the dining room at 7pm.

" Mom , am not a thing,, dad did you hear that ? Mom just called me a thing and you're not saying anything!!" He complains to Joe.

" Hun.. don't call our handsome boy a thing" Joe says sarcastically.

"Ahh sorry, I was just trying to flatter you." Alexa says laughing.

" By calling me a thing?! But mom, let me tell you ,, you can call me anything you want and I won't even mind because am from you, the little you so it's like you're calling yourself."

We both laugh at his silliness , we were all sitting in the dining table for dinner but he hasn't been around since breakfast, I asked for him at lunch time because he was the only one missing and they said he's never at home except for the past month, last month he's been staying indoors but it seems the old him is back.

I actually like this family, it's so cheerful, loving and caring except for one person..Tyler,, I don't know why but it seems like he hates me or doesn't like me.

The way they've been describing him he doesn't seem that way to me at all, all I see when our glances meet is just detest.

They described him as a cheerful person and he's always joking around and I've believed that after seeing him this evening .

Where're sitting ready for dinner and he's talking non stop and laughing but as soon as our eyes meet unexpectedly, he turns away and even stops talking.

We eat in a cheerful mood , and after dinner is finished I glance at my secret girlfriend, smile at her as she smiles back.

We've decided that we'll tell her parents the day after tomorrow and we'll pretend to have fallen for each other just this few days we've met.

"Thank you so much for dinner, it was really nice." I say honestly.

" You are welcome my boy" miss Alina is so nice too, I've never seen a saul like hers before, they call her Nanny and so I started calling her that too.

We've been talking so much during the day with Joe and Alex, some conversations from work some from just the normal circumstances of life and now I guess everyone will just head to there rooms.

" So uh.. I think the shower in my bathroom has something loosen and water is dripping , I can't really fix it alone after trying earlier , though it's just a small matter." I lie.

" Hey, you should have said it instead of struggling on your own, I'll go check on it." Joe says standing but I stop him.

"No, you don't have to, I mean, it's just a small matter maybe Tyler could help me fix it, it's not something to make you go there."

hearing me mention him I see him stiffen for a second and then he looks up from where he's sitting "Tenor, if that matter is really small as you are saying why don't you just fix it on your own? Or just let dad do it..

because me?? I won't be of any help there, I won't be able to do anything." He refuses.

Joe , "Tyler ! Are we really doing this again??!"

" But dad you know me , I won't be able t.." he starts but I cut him.

" It's okay , we'll be two of us and we can help each other, we don't have to bother Joe for that ." I say as I hold his hand and pull him , as soon as he stands he removes my hand on his.

We head up the stairs towards now called my room, I open the door, I enter and he also enters closing the door and he heads to the bathroom directly but I hold his hand stoping him , " wait.."

" Why do you keep holding my hand and pulling me , you can just use words , my ears are doing just fine." He says.

" Sorry about that."

" It's no big deal,, so?? What is it??"

Why is he always trying to avoid my eyes. I wonder.

" Sorry about this too but I might have lied "

" Lied about what??"

" The shower dripping"

" Hah omg are you kidding me??, it's unbelievable that such a perfect guy can lie to my poor parents"

" No one is perfect Tyler"

" Why did you lie??"

" Because I want to talk to you" he hesitates a bit as if debating on something, as if he's scared or so.

" You didn't have to lie to talk to me, you could have just asked me."

" It couldn't wait until tomorrow and I didn't know how to ask you"

" What is it"

" Why do hate me so much ? I can literally see it on you, look , I just wanted to tell you that if you are worrying about your sister, you shouldn't because I'll make sure she's fine all the time, I really love her and am so serious about her."

All that time I was talking he wasn't looking at me but the moment I said that I love his sister he raised his head drastically, why is he looking at me like that , our eyes are doing that thing again, the thing they did the first time we met, he's staring right in my eyes then his guess lowers to my lips,, damnit! am I imagining things or what ?? Why is he staring at my lips like that?!

Suddenly , like he's just woken from the sleep, he talks fast, " Am sorry I've been an ass to you since yesterday, am sure you're the best choice for her and from now on I'll support that,, Have a goodnight."

He walks out closing the door behind him, right now my heart is racing since the time our eyes were staring right into each other and I literally saw his eyes moving to my lips, it started to beat even harder.

Am standing right where he left me wondering if my eyes and brain are playing tricks on me.

It's probably nothing and am overthinking, the main purpose for talking to him was to convince him that am really good for his sister and he shouldn't hate me for no reason and he agreed so we're done with that.

So I start preparing myself to go to bed.
