Cleo stops laughing first, /"We usually drink,/" she looks at him then to Maddy, /"but she hasn’t been feeling good, so the ice cream is probably already too much./" I watch Maddy nod her head and look at her ice cream. She looks more upset than I expected her to. I can tell by the way that Cleo and Kierra keep looking at her that there is more to the story. I also know that none of them will talk until they are ready so I don’t press.

I tip my head and watch her as she eats her ice cream for a while before I finally think of something to do, /"Video games?/" I watch as her head shoots up and she smiles at me just enough to make me know that I said the right thing. I honestly didn’t know if Maddy even had a gaming system anymore. I look toward the entertainment center and see that she not only has the ones she had when we were kids, but she had an added a few more.
