When we first arrived at the dorm, we were immediately led away by something, luckily we were found by Coco-chan and brought to the dorm in one piece.
We're now fully settled in and everyone has been rotating on chores, how nice.
But that's not why I'm writing this. What I'm supposed to put down is the fact that I've been turned into the town's local seer.
It all started when I visited a shop with the girls and saw a shelf full of tarot cards, I decided to then take a peek at some of the packs and this sent the owner of the shop to rush over to me and excitedly speak ask if I was into tarot readings, so I said I did them myself.
Her eyes immediately turned into stars when I said this, as she pulled to the back of her shop where a table covered in purple cloth stood alone in the centre, surrounded by boxes. On top of the table was a crystal ball, shining so brightly like the moon. It was clearly well kept and cleaned when compared to the rest of the room.
The owner explained it belonged to her grandmother, who was the town seer, but after she passed away the village has been looking for a new seer to take over, but no one has been able to step up to the plate.
Then out of nowhere, she asked me to do some tarot reading for her, guess as a test.
I wanted to refuse, but the girls sang my praises so much that I couldn't. So placing some of the cards down, I began to read her fortune. From what I've gathered it seemed as though she would accomplish something great and in order to reach that goal she should just keep on pressing herself to accomplish it.
I relayed it to her and she seemed very happy by my reading, but what I didn't know was that readings in the village were accurate. Very accurate.
It would take a couple of days before I realised that, but when I did it was already too late.
One morning after I did some fortune-telling for the girls out of fun, but when my readings became eerily close to what was going on around them, I was rather concerned.
For example I told Shion-chan that she would have a good future, but it came with some cost, more specifically despite gaining something it'll also backfire on her somehow. Then around noon, this very same fortune actually came true.
An explosion suddenly erupted from upstairs and when we went to check on it, we found Shion-chan covered in soot. When we asked her what was going on, she said she was making a potion but it ended up reacting unexpectedly. But she then added that it was a good result though since she's been hitting roadblocks on that particular combination of ingredients and it was the first time it had a reaction, so that was progress for her.
This wasn't the only time either when I did Marine-chan's fortune that she should be careful in the near future since the cards told me she'll get into an accident, she then ended up throwing her back when she played baseball with the others.
I ended up growing more worried about how accurate the readings were becoming so I sought out some council from the owner, Kyrell.
When I told him about my readings becoming very accurate, he wasn't all surprised and instead explained that the village was situated in an area where the magical energy was particularly strong, which is why so many different creatures congregate there, from spirits to magical animals. So it would be natural that even mysticism would have some effect, though he did say that the fact that my tarot readings were actually becoming true meant that I actually had accurate readings in the first place and it probably just needed the energy to become true in reality.
It was a lot to take in, but after word got out that I was a good fortune teller, everyone began to go to the inn asking if I was working there. Of course I wasn't, but since the village was very superstitious I had to do the readings, it was a new experience doing it for a crowd, but a pleasant one.
Luckily I didn't need to do it for long since Kyrell told everyone I wasn't actually a seer and was just a customer of his, so he wouldn't allow me to work as a fortune teller in his inn because he hasn't hired me and had no plans of hiring a fortune teller. So with that everyone went home.
I love tarot readings, but doing it for that many people was not something I would do on a daily basis, and I'm glad I don't have to. But every now and again I would return to that shop and set up a fortune-telling booth for the village, the people really appreciate it and I'm glad I'm able to help others with their past, present and future.
I didn't expect to become a fortune teller while in the village, but it's become one of the activities I've come to cherish while staying here and that won't be changing any time soon.
Ok so, I completely forgot about Gamers but when I did remember I already finished 3rd gen, so I just added them in. However, I did want to give them a chapter of some sorts, but I had no idea what would be good, then I remembered Mio's tarot readings and decided to roll with that idea, turned out pretty well I think.
Anywho that's all I have to say, I hope you all enjoyed the chapter and I'll see you all next week.
