Liam stared at me, "Compared to what I had imagined, it wasn't that bad."
I swirled my spoon through my melting ice cream, "But bad enough for you to skip dinner."
He didn't utter a word but shifted the almost empty bowl of whipped cream and soy sauce aside. "You should get some sleep. We'll be really busy tomorrow. Mirabel wants us to take a proper photo for the public."
I nodded as I watched him stand to his feet with a spoon in my mouth.
His eyes flickered over me before coming back to my face and he walked out of the kitchen.
I was suddenly glad I couldn't sleep earlier as I stared at Liam until he was out of sight. This is the first time since our engagement that Liam and I have actually talked like normal people without arguing or fighting.
