I Need To Talk To You
"THAT BASTARD! I WILL KILL HIM!" Hunter roared as he paced back and forth in his study.
Kaiden closed his eyes and took a deep breath, "Will you calm down for a second?" He asked calmly.
Hunter stopped his pacing and looked at his right hand man incredulously.
"How can I be calm Kai? And..and why are YOU so calm? They could have killed your dad!" He shout throwing his hands up.
Kaiden was still calm when he replied, "I know. But what matters, he is okay now. He's not dead. Also, don't forget what he taught us, nothing good will come out of anger, Hunter. Don't forget it." He said with a straight face and gave his boss a pointed look.
"Says the one who scarred Jayce." The raven haired muttered with a scoff.
Hunter breathe through his nose and tried to calm himself. The door burst open revealing a panting Ricky. He just got to know the news that Kaiden's father was attacked in their estate in Vegas. Ricky was training the new guards with his knife skills, and as soon as he heard the news, he rushed to his brothers.
He ran to Kaiden hugging his tall frame tightly, "Is he okay? Are you okay?" He asked, panicked.
Kaiden returned the embrace patting the young one's head.
"Yeah, yeah. Don't worry."
"Do you know who was it?" Derrick asked with a serious face, turning towards Hunter.
"He was attacked inside the house. Who else it would be other than Blake fucking Turner," Hunter gritted out, "I'm sure Adriel has something to do with this."
"So? What should we do now?" Ricky asked looking at the elder ones.
Before anyone could speak Brad knocked at the already opened door.
"What is it Brad?" Kaiden turned around.
"Drake is downstairs. He is looking for you guys" He announced.
The three guys frowned. What is so urgent that the blonde is looking for them?
The guys made their way to elevator.
When they reached the living room, there was Ian and Oliver with Drake, along with few guards. But their eyes found the unconscious guy on the couch.
"What happened? Who is he?" Hunter asked in his deep voice, eyeing the guy on couch.
Drake turned his eyes to Ian, signalling the him to explain what had happened.
"I don't know who is he or where did he came from, but he was making a scene in bar. When he started hitting us, I called Drake. He hit me from behind and when I turned around, he already collapsed." Ian explained glancing at the guy he brought.
Kaiden was observing the guy on the couch. His brows drawn together as he tried to remember where he saw the face. He watched the guy closely before realisation hit him.
"I think I know him!" He exclaimed and took out his phone, searching for something in the device.
Everyone was surprised at Kaiden's words and watched him working on his phone.
Finally he found what he is looking for then spare the unconscious guy a glance before turning towards their boss.
"It's Neal's friend, Arjun. I remember he is his housemate too." Kaiden said stuffing his phone back in pocket. When he received Neal's details from Brian, he also sent the photos of the doctor's close ones. And Arjun had a unique handsome face that no one could forget.
"I think he is sick." Ian said eyeing Arjun.
"Ricky, call Neal." Hunter ordered, and the young one nodded before rushing upstairs.
"You think it's a good idea?" Kaiden asked Hunter to which the other frowned.
"Why? He was dying to see his friend and mother." Hunter shrugged.
"I know. But, look at him," He gestured towards Arjun, "I think Neal will throw a tantrum if he saw him like this."
Hunter thought for a moment. His friend is right, but he want the vet to feel a little relieved. If seeing his friend make him feel good, why waiting?
Footsteps heard, and everyone looked up to find a confused Neal following an excited Ricky.
They waited for Neal to notice the passed out guy and when it happened, his eyes widened and he sprinted towards his friend.
"Arjun? ARJUN? Open your eyes!" Neal shook his friend's shoulder but didn't get any response. He turned towards the Rendells furiously,
"What did you do to him?!" He shouted, glaring at the boss in the mansion.
Hunter rolled his eyes and turned towards his right hand, who had a 'I told you so' look in his face.
'I can't deal with this shit. You talk to him'
Kaiden, who understood the silent words of his boss nodded and calmly replied to Neal, "We didn't do anything doc. It's your friend who attacked our men."
Neal wasn't buying anything, he is just concerned for his friend. He tapped Arjun's cheeks to wake him but his hand froze, the guy was burning.
"Oh my God! He still has fever. Why didn't you take him to hospital." Neal was freaking out. Hunter clenched his jaw.
"Oh! I found this in his pocket." Ian said, holding out some tablets. Neal took it and observed.
"This is some bullshit painkillers! Take him to hospital, he will die!" The vet was crying at this point. This is all happened because of him. Arjun should have been searching for him for the past days without taking care of himself.
Hunter closed his eyes and exhaled. They have enough problems already, and now this? He don't like the way the vet blaming them for this. He don't like the tears rolling down his cheeks, and he definitely don't like the way Neal hugging his friend so tightly.
"Ricky, take him to right wing." Hunter gritted out and walked away from the small crowd.
"You guys carry on. We got this." Kaiden said to the others and they nodded in response before leaving. There were only Kaiden, Ricky, Neal and his unconscious friend left. Drake left with others to take care the mess Arjun made in the bar.
Kaiden walked towards the couch and lift Arjun in bridal style.
"Where are you taking him? Hospital?" Neal rose to his feet and asked hopefully.
"Follow me." That was all Kaiden said before walking towards the elevator.
Ricky took Neal's hand, reassuringly squeezing it before dragging him along with them.
_________
"Do you even know anything?" Kaiden warily looked at Ricky who was inspecting Arjun for the past fifteen minutes.
When Neal followed the two Rendells, he didn't know where they are going. But when they entered what seems like a mini hospital ward, he was astonished.
In old days, when the Rendells were attacked from rival gangs, they were treated there. But it was small room back then. When Hunter took over his father's position, he expanded this part of mansion with more facilities.
Neal is standing beside his friend who is lying on the bed. He worriedly glanced back and forth at his friend and the frowning face of Ricky.
Ricky shoot a glare towards Kaiden at his question.
"Don't mess with a doctor. I can paralyze you, you know?" Ricky threatened with a syringe.
Kaiden gulped before holding his hands up. Sometimes you wouldn't know if the young one is serious or just joking. Better not take the risk.
"What's wrong? Will he be okay?" Neal enquired. Ricky sighed looking at Arjun, "He needs rest. Seems like he wasn't eating or sleeping properly. He was surviving with that painkillers. If he carried like this for three more days, you would have lost your friend." Ricky explained, going all professional, "But don't worry, he will be alright." The young one added with assurance when he saw the horror and sadness on the other's face. He withdraw the fluid in the vial before injecting it into Arjun's body.
"This is all my fault." Neal mumbled, collapsing on the wooden chair, pulling his hair with both hands.
"Is he okay?" Everyone looked at the way the voice came from. Hunter was leaning against the door frame with a neutral expression.
Neal's face hardened, "He is not dead yet." He spat.
Ricky winced at the harshness in his voice. His brothers didn't say anything.
"He is okay. Just needs some rest and food in his system." He said.
Hunter nodded and turned around to leave.
"Uh..Neal? I need to talk to you." Ricky said. Kaiden frowned at his words and looked at him quizzically.
'What are you planning?'
'I will tell you later.'
Neal doesn't understand what the guys were talking with their eyes. But when Ricky tugged at his shirt, he followed the blonde.
_____________
"You didn't tell you were coming." Adriel's face lit up as soon as his eyes landed on the fifty five year old man in the living room.
"I had a meeting here. This wasn't planned. I have to catch the evening flight." Victor said and hugged his nephew sharing the same happiness.
They walked towards the couch. Leah came down to greet the elder Froster and sat beside her boss who sat opposite of Victor.
"Why are you leaving so soon? It's been a while." Adriel frowned.
"Yeah. I wanted to come and see you when I heard the news." Victor spoke with delighted smile. Adriel and Leah shared a confused look before turning to his uncle.
"News?"
"Hmm.. I didn't think you would strike inside their place. It's a bad news that he is still alive. Antony.. I hate him. I'm glad you made a move." He praised his nephew with a proud smile, but didn't notice the smile he received was forced.
"I wanted to tell you something else too." Victor said with a sigh. Adriel had a feeling what was coming.
"If it's about Aldo, tell him I'm still not interested in his business." He deadpanned.
"Are you sure?" Victor narrowed his eyes.
Adriel almost got riled up, but Leah's hand hold him down.
"I have said this like hundred times. No matter how many times he ask, I'm not into his human trafficking thing. I chose this path for one goal," He paused gazing intently at his uncle, eyes filled with hostility which not directed at the man. "I want to see his fall, uncle Vic. I'm still running what he started," He pointed at his father's portrait, "so that his allies won't cut my brother's throat in his sleep. Aldo can do his dirty work, but don't expect me to join him in this. I'm Adriel, not Valentin Froster."
Victor stared at his nephew for a few minutes. He let out a sigh and nodded. "I will tell him."
"I have to go," Victor squinted at his watch before standing up. "Where is August by the way?"
"He has meeting with Darren." Adriel said walking his uncle out.
They stopped at the entrance and shared a hug, "Look after each other." Victor said as always, patting Adriel's back who nodded before let go.
Leah remained silent till the white Audi disappeared at their mansion's entrance. She turned towards her boss with narrowed eyes.
"Andro, what was that? When did Antony got attacked? Did you do something?" She pressed with an accusing tone in her voice, to which she received a pointed look.
"You know me Leah! Something is going on." He muttered pinching his nose bridge and sighed.
"I would be ecstatic to see Hunter's breakdown. But I should be the one causing it." He hissed.
"Who do you think it is? Blake?"
Adriel shook his head, "No. Blake wouldn't do something like this without asking me. We can't let this go on." They shared a look.
Few months ago something similar happened. Some people attacked Hunter's guards and the Rendells took their wrath on Frosters' guards, assuming that Adriel send them to attack his men. In truth Adriel had nothing to do with it. But it shouldn't happen again. They won't play someone else's game anymore.
"Uncle shouldn't know about this. He's happy. Let him believe we done this. And...stick with the current plan." He said to his right hand.
Leah nodded, "Are you sure about this?" She asked warily.
"You know I hate this question, Leah. We can bring him down if we strike at the right spot. And to do that, we have to go with some dirty tricks." Adriel breathed out before vanish inside. Leah stared after her friend and sighed before following him.
