Chapter 9: Endless Reincarnation

"Ah!"

Sitting up suddenly from the ground, Brother Long looked around in horror. The bonfire in front of him was bright and warm, as if to remind him that he was still alive in the world.

"I...I'm still alive?"

Looking blankly at the scene before him, Brother Long couldn't feel any warmth, even though he was sitting by the campfire. That terrifying scene appeared in his mind, and he felt as if he was sweating profusely, like he was in another world.

Terrifying memories came to mind, and Brother Long clearly remembered that he and his companions had taken an ax to chop at the terrible butcher. But the butcher was like a ruthless killing machine; even when hit by a sharp ax, he seemed to be fine. Instead, Brother Long was chopped down with a knife and then hung on a ferocious iron hook like Liu San. Thinking of this, Brother Long's pupils couldn't help but tighten.

It was just physical fear at first, but the subsequent changes in the iron hook made Brother Long feel fear that penetrated to his bones. As time went by, barbs like ferocious claws grew on the iron hook. The black, claw-like things seemed to be closing slowly, trying to pierce his chest. He struggled and called for help, but in the end, he was pierced through the chest by the terrifying black claws. At that moment, Brother Long thought he was really going to die.

But what's going on? Why didn't he die? And why was he back at the campfire?

Just when Brother Long was stunned, suddenly, a familiar exclamation came from the side. "This...I'm not dead?" Liu San's voice suddenly sounded in his ears. Brother Long turned his head and saw Liu San, like himself, staring blankly at the burning bonfire. Not only that, but the other two prisoners also got up from the ground, looking equally shocked. Everyone exchanged looks but didn't speak for a long time.

"What's going on in this ghost place? Did the warden use some witchcraft?" Liu San suddenly shouted excitedly.

Looking at the trembling body of this companion, Brother Long and the other two prisoners couldn't help but remain silent. Yes, the terror and physical pain that penetrated into the bone marrow seemed to be vivid in their minds. If all of this was a dream, then this dream was too real.

Suddenly, Brother Long saw something familiar. Not far from the bonfire, the white envelope was still quietly placed on the ground. He picked up the envelope, and after hesitating for a moment, opened it again.

But when he saw the contents of the envelope, Brother Long's pupils suddenly shrank. Sensing something was wrong on Brother Long's face, the other three hurriedly came over, and when they saw the contents of the envelope, their expressions also changed drastically.

On the envelope, the words that originally introduced the rules of the game had disappeared, leaving only one sentence:

"Death is never relief."

Recalling their previous experience of being resurrected from the dead, everyone fell silent. Suddenly, Liu San, who was most excited, spoke fiercely.

"Death is not relief? Nonsense! I will not give in! I don't know what magic trick that b*****d used to trap me here. I will not sit still and wait for death." After that, Liu San stood up and turned towards the darkness beyond the bonfire. Seeing Liu San about to leave, Brother Long quickly stopped him.

"Where are you going?"

"I won't let him control me here. I want to escape from this place. Who will come with me?" Liu San asked, his eyes filled with madness. Hearing this, the others looked at the thick black mist outside the bonfire and fell silent. Seeing this, Liu San snorted coldly.

"A bunch of cowards."

Then Liu San walked towards the black mist without looking back and finally disappeared into its depths. But as the others sat in silence, Liu San's figure suddenly reappeared where he had disappeared. When Liu San walked out of the black fog and saw the others by the campfire, he had a ghostly expression. Their eyes met, and everyone's expressions turned grim.

Not believing what he had seen, Liu San turned around and walked into the black mist again, but soon, he reappeared at the same spot.

"Damn it!"

This time everyone realized that there was no way out of this cursed place. No matter which direction you went, you would eventually come back here. What kind of place was this?

As the four of them pondered this problem, the surrounding black fog thickened and enveloped them again. I don't know how long it took, but when Brother Long opened his eyes and saw the familiar dark moon and the abandoned manor, he suddenly understood the meaning of the sentence in the letter.

"A**hole! Let us out!"

Desperate roars echoed in the manor. But the killing game continued, never ending...

Seven days later, the sun shone on Yang Chi's face through the glass. Looking at the calendar next to the table, Yang Chi pressed a button. Soon, the office door opened and prison guard Wang Lide walked in.

"Xiao Chi, do you have a problem with me?"

"Uncle Wang, the time for those guys locked in the dark room is almost up. You can let them out."

Hearing this, Wang Lide frowned slightly, perhaps recalling something unpleasant.

"Xiao Chi, it's only been seven days. Seven days in a small dark room is too light for bastards like Liu San. I'd keep them in custody for a month."

"A month? Haha, they can't last that long. Listen to me and let them out."

Yang Chi smiled lightly at Wang Lide's words. Just kidding, staying in the malicious world you created for even one more second is torture, let alone a month. Yang Chi was sure that if Liu San and the others stayed for a month, they would have a mental breakdown and become four lunatics. According to Yang Chi's plan, seven days was the maximum, enough to teach these four a lesson that would stay with them forever.
