Bright Academy

School for gifted students is an understatement. Bright Academy was a school on an isolated island in the middle of the ocean. Felix Oppong was one of the over thirty students in the forty square kilometer sized college, for good reason...

VAMPARALYSIS

After drinking almost a third of Curtis's blood, the vampire felt drunken with power, as Curtis fell to the floor, paralyzed, but the creature wanted more, so it raised its nails, ready to slit his throat and end his suffering when its wrist was grabbed by another, showing two blue eyes with an intimidating glow.

I then said,"You've been undead long enough."

Then I threw it, breaking through a wall and flying over the garden and landing hard on its back.

Then at the other side of the earth, where the sun still shone, a mirror like pane of two types of ice formed, reflecting the sunlight to another, and another, till the ray got to the mansion, where it was laser focused by an ice lens, burning through the vampire's flesh.

It wanted to turn into a group of bats to escape the torture but it was immobilised, betrayed both by the water in its own body and its undead nature, both of which I had total control over.

After nothing but ash was left, I rushed to Curtis's side and said to take him to help but he didn't want to leave Alexa, so I forced him to sleep then carried him between my arms out of the room.

After Curtis was better, he sat alone on the balcony of his and Alexa's room thinking angry thoughts, when Alexa came up and kissed him gently on the cheek to make him aware of her presence.

He looked at her, shocked to see her out of bed then kissed her on the lips after she asked what was wrong.

"I don't know..."He said,"... everything, your brother doesn't seem to care about anything but what he wants and it pisses me off."

"Are you sure that's what's wrong? Because it surely doesn't seem like it, you don't seem angry but rather, sad and afraid, sad of my condition and afraid that you may lose me forever."

He didn't speak so she continued,"Felix is reaching out to you, he never meant for this to happen, at least give him a chance, for me?"

"For you."He said, standing up.

By the time he got to the doorway, he asked,"Are you sure you wouldn't need anything? Like fried ice cream and poached cheese?"

"What?"She asked.

"You don't like that? Then maybe a snake fruit and star fruit upside down cake."

She laughed as she told him to leave and he chuckled, she wondered what that even meant.

I was sipping cold peanut soup, alone at the kitchen table, when someone called my name.

I yelled,"Son of a biscuit! You could have given me a heart attack!"

"I actually wish that I did."

"...so what can I do you for?"I asked.

He looked at the seat right next to me and I motioned for him to take it, and after he sat down, he bent over, as in great pain, then I sensed a tear fall down his cheek as he said,"I'm not really angry at you..."

"Yeah, you're scared and sad."

He frowned at me as I said,"I have no other choice, I hear and see everything across the continent and much of the ocean, but, that wasn't what you were going to say, is it?"

"No...ever since I was young, my family put me through all sorts of training to always get the upper hand, I hate to say it but I like it, till I met Alexa, who humbled me, she was the second half of me and even though I don't usually show it, I look up to you Felix, far more than I have to anyone else I'm sorry for being such an awful person..."

"You aren't an awful person, maybe slightly but...all you need is a little TLC."

"Tables, ladders and chairs?"He asked.

"...no, tender loving care, you have gone through so much, but I'm willing to help you embrace your past and face your fears, I'm willing to wait as long as that may take, even if I need to lengthen both our life spans by a century each."

He frowned at me and I shrugged as he sighed then said,"Thank you."

"Anytime."I said, patting his back.

I raised my hands and a river was held back as a massive wall of water, while the water filled cement flowed up and arranged itself before the river, then much of the water in the cement flowed out of it, drying it as a bone, then the growing wall of water was let go and crashed onto the dam with the extra collected water flowing over the dam in an arch.

The people applauded and thanked Jessica and she looked at me, a little scared, I didn't feel right, but I smiled and gave her a double thumbs up, then she ran into my arms and lifted me into the air happily, almost crushing me to pieces.

When she apologized for being too aggressive, I ruffled her hair and said,"Apologize for not doing it earlier, you are an amazing kid Jessie, I hope you know that."

She giggled and said,"Of course I do, you tell me everyday."

"Well I mean it everyday."I said.

She smiled at me then kissed me on the nose, before running into the forest, after claiming she had tagged me.

Ama had been breast feeding Alice, her daughter, when Alex barged into the room with news about his son.

"José just said his first word!!"Alex yelled excitedly.

"Isn't it a little late? I mean we've had him for more than a year and he's been crawling for months but has never made an attempt to stand up."

"I know, that's why I'm so happy for him, why can't you?"

"Don't get me wrong, I'm over the moon but...I think we should get him to a professional."

Alex didn't like to trust other people with José. mostly because they could easily be irresponsible or wolves in sheep's clothing, they could easily be monsters in disguise and even Darlok's troops hadn't totally vanished, we all just wondered who was boss now.

Alice looked exactly like her mother, with her father's mutations and big blue eyes, but six months wasn't over yet for her to get her true eye colour and Alex could but hope for her to get his light as well.
