The Escape

Chapter 5

Her mother arranged to put a cloak on her head, Alina was just watching every move of the queen mother as she took care of her. They wasted no time and the king agreed to what the queen wanted to happen. Her mother noticed that she was looking at it so she immediately stopped and then looked at it with her worried eyes.

"Everything will be fine, we will follow and don't stay away from Erald no matter what happens," her mother reminded him.

She didn't answer and gave her a kiss on it. Early in the morning at that time, the people outside the palace were also silent when the soldiers in the palace calmed them down. Everything is planned, where they will pass towards the place where she will hide.

The mother walked away from him as if she didn't want to let him go because she was so scared and worried that even he felt the same way. Her chest was pounding but she didn't notice it.

"Be careful there," Regina caressed Alina's cheek at the same time.

Alina smiled slightly at her sister but the sadness could be seen in her eyes, she felt something bad was going to happen that day.

"Everything is ready," said Erald when he suddenly arrived, they had nothing but Erald's arrow and arrow as defense, a horse and their clothes.

They didn't have to show up so Erald left his protective armor so they could get to the school quickly as well. Alina glanced at her father who was deep in thought and he no longer noticed. Even for the last time he did not even feel important or that he was the son of the king. He averted his eyes and nodded at Erald as he turned to the young man.

The elegant young man took a deep breath then walked straight while in front of her, Alina just followed and did not look back to where the family was. As they walked away from the hallway, as they walked away from his family he could gradually hear his mother's sobs and Regina's sobbing.

She was more determined to control her emotions even though he really wanted to go back there to hug the mother but he didn't do it yet, because it might just ruin their plan.

Erald finally got them out to the back of the palace which faces the Dawn mountains. He had not yet entered there and he could see nothing but darkness. The black horse that they will use to transport awaits them.

"Are you ready, dear princess?" the worried young man asked.

"Let's leave before the sun king peeks," he replied.

She was helped to ride the black horse and then Erald followed behind him. Erald immediately ran the horse as he also held on to the leash as a balance, as it lasted as if they were swallowed up by the darkness in the woods and the cold that embraced them. He tries to see despite the thick fog but nothing really, what kind of chirping of insects or creatures in the darkness they can hear. But it seemed as if the darkness was still lightening him for reasons he could not explain, as if only darkness was safe for him.

'Is it because of the curse?' He asked himself.

He could hear voices that seemed to be singing, he remembered that there were guardian fairies in the woods and mountains of Dawn but nothing confirmed it especially since none of them had seen it yet. The horse seems to have memorized and already knows where he is going. The horse ran up and up slightly in the high part of the woods.

"Princess!"

The two shouted in shock when the horse suddenly jumped, Alina couldn't stop herself from falling to the ground when she rolled over when the horse they were riding also fell. Suddenly a series of arrows flying towards them from where they came from.

Even though Erald was still on his heels, he immediately protected the young man, prepared himself but he saw no opponent. One after another they heard footsteps approaching them until they saw a light approaching them.

Erald took her hand and pulled her upright while running even though she would stumble because of the dress she was wearing. They hadn't gone far when they were surrounded by strangers, their eyes widened because they knew it was Dawn's hometown looking for them.

"Don't come any closer!" Erald threatened but even the young man had no way to escape.

"Give us the princess!" shouted the old man there.

"No, I will not give up the princess even if we die! You have to go over my corpse before you get him! " shout rush at them.

But they will not give up what they want to happen. Alina feels useless as she watches Erald dodge the attacks and he fights them. He felt like he was alone and had no fight. He didn't know what he would do when someone pulled at him. He is struggling but three women are already helping him.

When he was wounded in one arm.

"Alina!"

"Let me go!" he just cried while struggling, he just saw Erald fall while everyone was working together. He didn't want anyone to tax his life because of him especially if it was Erald. "Stop!" his anguished cry echoed throughout the woods.

Everyone was shocked and stopped. In a flash, the young man's face was bruised and bruised, and they beat him up because somehow he was still a princess. Trembling he approached and knelt next to Erald who was already weakening but he still showed courage despite the pain in his body.

A series of tears flowed from her eyes that she could not hold back.

"It's not for you, dear princess, to cry, a soldier like me doesn't deserve your tears, I didn't do my job right."

Alina shook her head. "That's enough, I'll go with them, just come here and wait for help in the palace so they can save you."

Fear registers in the young man's eyes.

Alina finally let go as she shook it and tried to stand up but she couldn't.

Alina turned to the people and did not listen to Erald. "If you need me, you don't have to hurt others, I'll come willingly," Alina moaned.
