Missing Miranda.

"Miranda, are you happy now?"

Miranda turned to look at his face and found his lips pursed tightly which implied that he was indeed furious.

"You can put on a good show in front of my mother but you don't have to put up an act in front of me. What a slut!" Without even considering Miranda's feelings at all, he uttered the harshest words to her.

Miranda clutch her fists into balls but she chose to remain silent.

Richard saw her pale face and pursed his lips. He was driving faster on purpose to scare this woman since she made him unhappy.

His phone suddenly rang. When he saw that it was his assistant, Steven, he immediately answered it through his Bluetooth headphones.

"What's the matter?"

"Mr Morris wants to talk to you."

"Tell him that I'll call him back in twenty minutes." He then hung up the phone and parked his car at the roadside.

Richard turned to Miranda. "Get down. I'll ask Steven to come and take you home."

"It's almost eleven. Are you going to leave a girl here all by herself?" Miranda looks with confused eyes.

"Steven will be here in five minutes."

Biting her lip, she got out of the car. Miranda was a person with high self-esteem, and she never expected him to be kind to her. So she pushed the door open and got out of the car without saying anything.

He had already driven away when she realized that she was in a horrible place. He drove so fast just now that she didn't notice which road he took.

Five minutes later, Steven arrived to pick her up. However, there was no one on the road.

Steven ordered some men to find Miranda. "You must find her no matter what," Steven bellowed.

However, they could not find her within a twenty-kilometre radius. Sensing that something was not right, Steven quickly gave Richard a call.

"Remember to send her home safely and buy---" Richard started talking the minute he picked up Steven's call.

"Miss Miranda is missing," Steven said in a quavering voice.

"What? Then find her" Richard roared.

"Sure. I will give you an update, Director." Steven hung up the call.

Steven searches for Miranda everywhere. He checked the surveillance cameras and got the shock of his life.

Indeed, Miranda had met with a bad guy.

-----

Miranda blinked her eyes slowly, as she tried to open her eyes to see what was around her. She could see a hazy figure in front but couldn't make out who or what it was.

With a bit of effort, she saw it was a man standing right in front of her. He didn't look familiar and she was so sure she hasn't met him before.

"Who are you?"

"My name is Sam Hart. Are you feeling good?" Sam asked.

Miranda paused for a while and nodded her head.

"Where is this place?" Miranda pursed her lips.

"My place. Your phone rang and I picked up the call and told about you. Don't worry! Your family will arrive soon." Sam said.

"Yes...." Miranda hung her head low. Miranda's eyes reddened as she was on the verge of tears, but she managed to force them back.

"Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?" Sam did not know how to react when he saw Miranda's expression.

"I am fine." Miranda pursed her lips.

"Thank you for saving me," Miranda said sincerely while Sam nodded with a small smile.

----

"Are you living alone?" Miranda asked.

"Yes...My room is a little bit messy. I work as a senior resident at Scoups Hospital. So, I rarely came home." Sam said with a bitter smile.

Sam was filling the bowl with chicken soup. "It's still a little hot. Be careful," He reminded with a smile as she handed the bowl to Miranda.

"Thank you." Miranda took the bowl and quickly took a sip. It tasted so good.

"Mr Sam, thank you for saving my life. Let me invite you to dinner on your free day." Miranda suggested.

"Sure, I'll give you my number." He took out her phone and saved Miranda's number.

Knock! Knock!

Suddenly, someone knocked on the door.

"Who is it?" Sam opened the door. "Who...?" He saw a handsome, elegant-looking man in his long black coat. He seemed unfriendly, judging from his looks.

Miranda froze when she saw Richard. He came rather quickly.

Richard narrowed his eyes and stared at Miranda coldly.

Miranda was wearing a man hoodie and a pair of grey sweatpants. Her hair was tied up in a bun, which made her look cute and fresh.

"Come with me!" Richard's voice was deep and cold.

"Who...?" Sam turned to Miranda.

"My husband," Miranda replied and she deliberately stared daggers at her husband.
