CHAPTER 1
Tessa my elder sister got married with Fred, I can't help but image the picture of how happy they were during the wedding.
It was all she ever wanted, her smile gave that fact all away. Her emotions and all the exuberance was simply divine!
My attention was drawn to the lucky man, he couldn't fix his eyes in any other direction other than his bride's direction. This has got to be the most cheerful wedding I have been too. In the long run, they deserve to relish their wedding day moments, they had been through a lot. I was feeling drained and somnolent so I decided to head home to get rest. It has been a hectic day, whoa!
I walked slowly to where the lucky bride and bridegroom were. The decoration lightening rays that landed on my sister's face, just made her beautiful face shine like she was a fallen angel, I approached closer and I tripped over some disposable cups, embarrassment welcomed me to its town and some wedding guests turned around, some giggled at the sight, some turned and looked back while some were not moved to lend me a hand.
My sister noticed, she used her hands to raise up her laces of laces of laces….so many laces of wedding gown material, you understand my point. She raised all the white colored bed sheets she wore on her body and ran towards were I had fallen. On her way, alas! She tripped over empty wine bottles, oh the embarrassment, oh the crowd were by a percent interested but none near helped her get up, all they could do was create sound effects at the background:
"Oooooh"
" Ahhhh"
"Our bride"
"Goodness me"
" Eeeeeeeee she fell!:" No she did not fall! some guests...
Some were even reaching out their hands to her direction, but their legs weren't moving. What kind of guests did we have!?!?
Since they weren't going to do anything, I stood up and decided to leave my comfort zone..the grass, the grassI lay on. I decided to give her a hand.laughing out loud, she was squirming in the dress she had worn, the gown had to much material so it made it difficult to get up, it was almost as if she was drowning in an ocean and reaching out her hand for help, I smirked at the blithe actions she was making.
Before I reached where she was hysterically swimming in her dress, her groom had come to rescue her from; drowning from her wedding gown.
He lifted her up, extending his hands, while piercing his gaze into hers. My sister went red, I chuckled and I had finally reached the area where they stood.
" You wanted to help me up sis, or you wanted to give your groom a chance to flirt with you" I said casually,as I winked at my brother in law.
" That isn't true, stop the tease, it is my wedding. I wanted to come help you up, and this is how you thank your big sister"
she tiptoed and squeezed my cheeks. Ouch!
Fred giggled and held her by the hips, she clearly liked the gesture but she hid that fact and called out to the cleaner of the event centre to clear up the center.
" Hey tessa, it is currently 11 pm I would have loved to stay till the end (2pm), but my exams are coming up and I need some rest"
Oh, no problem brian , you look exasperated and I understand that it has been stressful for you"
I kind of felt guilty because she looked the most stressed but she seemed to be coping just fine, she wanted to live every moment of the night.
"Bro stay safe, drive with caution and call me when you reach home"
"No problem" I hugged fred,
"Please fred, please take care of my sis, I really love my sister, we are both orphans and she is the only family I have, I am leaving her in your hands please love her like she was a part of yourself "I whispered into fred's ears, I wanted to cry but I held it in, I looked at Tessa, tears had already filled her cat shaped eyes and her eye make up dealt with her appearance mercilessly. I wanted to burst into laughter and tears at what I was seeing, but I held my feelings resolute and chuckled gently. I placed my hands on her skin, it felt like a pillow cushion filled with feathers, I dragged her close and then hugged Tessa.
" I love you"
" You big baby, you are only telling me this now"
"April fool!"
" what are you saying it ain't even april. We are in November. Are you drunk?" she said releasing the dam of tears she had been storing.
" I said so because fred was giving me the stare, I am declaring my love and also hugging his bride "
Fred giggled and punched me lightly .
" This isn't the end, come visit regularly after the honeymoon"
"I will" she hugged me vapidly, without a lot of energy.
"I love you too" she said after she left, left my embrace, looking at me in the eyes, she put her head down and cried. Fred held her shoulders, raised her chin and kissed away her tears and, Tessa closed her eyes raised her dainty hands and placed it on his chest, they were enjoying the moment . I turned back silently.
I drove in my car, usually I would have tuned into my favorite radio station on a normal day but, but today was different. Tessa and I usually would sing along , as the memories flashed and I smiled, I steered and looked ahead at the traffic light, I looked down tuned the radio, I should be happy for my dear big sister, I was.
Change, sometimes I find myself not adapting quite well to changes. It was a good one but all the pristine memories and her angelic presence wasn't going to be around as frequent as before.
I was home! I breathed in the air and I enjoyed the absence of loud songs, guests that didn't care when a person tripped over, bright decoration lights, ice statues of a couple at every, gardenia and chrysanthemum flowers on all the tables, laughter and merry.
Away from everthing, I took my shower and I counted the water vapor on the window just for fun, I was trypophobic so when I started feeling repulsed, I looked away and embarked_(frenzied if I am being honest)on the journey out of the bathroom.
I wanted to open the door when I remembered that I forgot my towel, I didn't want to pervert Tessa. I don't know why I would forget my towel. Darn!
"Tessa, can you help me get my towel that is hanging on the hanger?" I requested.
Tess…wait was I ???
I had totally forgotten that she wasn't around anymore. I tapped my forehead lightly with my index and middle finger.
I left the bathroom in my birthday suit,
No sister no shame!
I walked into the living room, carried one of my favorite books and started reading , the main lead was sacrificing his manhood to his mermaid lover so she could become a human and live with him as his lover. I don't understand how the book is going to end but since it is a fantasy- genre: anything could happen, the authors have a way of manipulating these plots but the chapter I was about to read was the one where; the male lead was having second thoughts on whether to or whether not too take such a decision all for the sake of turning his lover into a human.
In my view, no girl ( merwoman) is worth sacrificing your treasure for. What happened to the girls on the land bruh, planet land?!?!?!?!
As I was about to find my answers at outset of the story chapter, I got a video call from my brother in law.
I answered.
" You forgot to call me once you reached home brian"He raised a braw. They still seemed to be at the wedding avenue, with Tessa out of sight.
"Oh sorry man, I was busy"
" hmmmmmm, I see busy huh? Nice clothes by the way" Fred eyes explored what I was wearing. I looked at what I wore…I was stark naked?!!?!?!
"No, no it isn't what you think, I am naked because I am just coming out from the shower!"
"I see, I am cool with it" he scratched the back of his head, tilted the head backward and giggled while laughing
what is that for?!?!?! I thought to myself.
"…well Brian, I called to ask what was Tessa's favorite food?"
"I want to cook it for her first thing in the morning"
"Nice, you are taking the traditional method up for a try"
"she likes…"
........................…
We had already ended the call. I lay in bed, I felt very tired, I yawned and smiled. I thought to myself, would I ever find my perfect match, A partner I could get up to prepare breakfast in bed for, the partner I could cut off my manhood for, I laughed, why was I even thinking about the second thought.
