52nd Break: Quarrel 

"What happened?" Qiu Si asked when he and Lin Ze came out and saw Meng Xing was marching away.

"Meng Xing - !" Lin Ze called, but then Qiu Shisi pulled him back while Qiu Yi glared at him.

"Don't talk to him right now… he is angry." Qiu Shisi advised Lin Ze and let go of him. If Lin Ze won't take his advice after he tells him, then Lin Ze will be miserable.

Their boss… he is really scary when he is angry.

Qiu Yi ignored Lin Ze and turned to Qiu Si. "Sir Meng came to see the female practitioner to talk to her." He answered. "But, the female practitioner was adamant in not saying anything." He said.

Lin Ze looked at them. Then, his brows knitted. "Meng Xing has a good temper. He won't be angry with just that." He said.

Qiu Yi glared at him again. What do you know about the boss?! He thought as he took a deep breath to suppress his temper. "Indeed," he said. His face is cold. This Lin Ze is testing my ability to lie! "That female practitioner found out that it was sir Meng who was poisoned, so she laughed at him, telling him that sir Meng should blame second young master and not her." He said.

Lin Ze's eyes widened. "She is so shameless!" he said and gnashed his teeth in anger.

"Oh? Officer Lin's heart is aching?" Qiu Yi spoke as he looked at Lin Ze with a mocking gaze. "But, for who does Officer Lin's heart aches, I wonder?" he asked.

Lin Ze turned and glared at Qiu Yi.

Meanwhile, Qiu Shisi and Qiu Si just stood on the side, watching the two with a strong smell of gunpowder around them (fig. tense situation). What Qiu Yi meant is that whether Lin Ze's heart is aching for Meng Xing, or actually for Meng Ruyan – who was his ex-fiance.

But, isn't boss Meng Ruyan? They thought, then sighed when they recalled that their boss really doesn't regard himself as Meng Ruyan. Seriously… boss has a serious case of schizophrenia!

"What do you mean by that?" Lin Ze angrily asked. "I am angry for Meng Xing, of course!" he answered. After all, Meng Xing is the victim here!

"Oh? Then your heart doesn't ache for second young master Meng?" Qiu Yi asked as he glared at Lin Ze. "Second young master Meng is the target here. And he was your fiancé!" he told Lin Ze.

"Yes, I do pity Meng Ruyan, too. But, that's it!" Lin Ze said. "Our engagement was already over… and it was Meng Xing who was poisoned here, not him!" he told Qiu Yi. "He doesn't even know that he was being targeted… and someone took the poison for him just because he fortunately had no appetite that time!" he said.

A vein throbbed in Qiu Yi's forehead. Qiu Shisi and Qiu Si know that Qiu Yi is about to explode. After all, even if their boss doesn't regard himself as Meng Ruyan, he is clearly still Meng Ruyan! Meng Xing is just his identity as the boss of Huichen – their boss! So, Qiu Shisi and Qiu Si naturally feel angry after hearing what Lin Ze said.

"You…" Qiu Yi clenched his fists. "You one-sidedly broke your engagement with second young master Meng… you didn't even inform him…" he spoke with his voice trembling in anger. "You made him a laughingstock! Now, you care more for someone who you only recently met? That you don't even know the background?" he asked.

Lin Ze is also angry. "How dare you speak about Meng Xing that way!" he said as his voice rose. "One's friendship isn't determined by their background!" he said. "And, I don't even know Meng Ruyan, either! I never even saw his face!" he told Qiu Yi.

"That's because you never cared about him!" Qiu Yi's voice also rose.

The employees of Huichen all came out and hid in the corners while watching them, feeling shocked. This is the first time that they saw Qiu Yi this angry! Qiu Yi has always been good-tempered. He is their leader, and they admire him for his skills. Qiu Yi always smiled, yet now Qiu Yi is angry!

"You only cared about yourself!" Qiu Yi continued as he pointed at Lin Ze while glaring at him. "You knew that you were engaged. Yet not only did you, the older one, not try to reach out with the other, but you even hung the other dry. And for five years!" he said, now voicing out his grievances for Meng Xing.

Qiu Shisi and Qiu Si fell silent. Even though they know that Qiu Yi can't beat Lin Ze in case they break out in a fight, they are on Qiu Yi's side. Not only because they are colleagues, but because they also care for their boss. They have the same sentiments as Qiu Yi. They also know that with their boss' high self-esteem, their boss definitely would not voice out his grievances.

And so, they let Qiu Yi, their leader, tell it to Lin Ze's face!

"Then, five years later, you came back." Qiu Yi's chest heaved up and down due to anger. "Wasn't your elder brother the one who called you to come back? What if he didn't call you to come back? You will continue to stay in jianghu. Who knows when will you think of returning?" he asked and sneered. He would rather Lin Ze forever stay in jianghu! But – "Have you ever thought of your fiancé, then?" he asked as he looked at Lin Ze in the eyes. "Lin Ze. You are a man and were raised to be upright by your parents. You know that you have a fiancé, you were engaged… have you ever cared about him?" he asked him.

Lin Ze fell silent after he heard what Qiu Yi said. He looked at him, stupefied. "It… was his family…" he finally managed to speak after a while. "They didn't want my family to see Meng Ruyan – " he said.

But, Qiu Yi cut him off. "Yes, the Meng family didn't." he nodded in affirmation. "But, it was your family who wanted to see Meng Ruyan. Not you yourself, the fiancé!" he told Lin Ze.
