Deliveries

Kita currently stood in the Hanger bay. Overseeing the delivery of the various things he had ordered. First of all, the most important thing that had arrived was the Lab Equipment.

A group of hauler and loading bots worked together to carry all the stuff around and sort them in the designated matter.

Kita had ordered many things, and these were the first to arrive.

A representative of the Novagen Scientific came forward and greeted Kita. The man was wearing a business suit and had a professional demeanor.

He talked with Kita as he needed a few signs.

"Mr. Kita, Thanks for doing business with Novagen Scientific. Please check everything and see if anything is missing from your order. " The guy said while smiling.

Kita took a walk around the hanger and inspected all the Huge high-tech containers that had been delivered. Each of them were about 10 meters tall and were a couple meters wide.

These containers were specially designed to keep anything inside them completely isolated from any outside factors. From the moment they were sealed in the factories the equipment inside was completely isolated from any vibrations or other factors.

This was really important.

The Lab equipment inside was a precision machine and highly calibrated from the factory. It was important to minimize any outside factors as even the tiniest vibrations could mess up the delicate balance.

That's why these containers were designed to be as isolating as possible.

Kita was quite impressed with what he saw. All the shiny containers were in prefect conditions and their stats showed that they hadn't encountered any major problems during transportation. So Kita could deduct that everything was in pristine condition.

So After he was satisfied with everything, he turned towards the Representative.

"Looks, like everything arrived safely. Nothing is wrong" Kita said with a pleased tone. He was glad that there weren't any problems.

"We always strive to provide the best services to our valued customers. Specially one as valued as you."

Kita realized that they probably knew who he was. That might have prompted them to give extra attention to everything.

That was all good.

Kita quickly signed everything and completed the remaining payment for the equipment before saying goodbye to them.

He gave Hugo a call to let him know that they Lab equipment had already arrived. And to let him know when they would be available to finish the upgrades to the Lab.

After that, As he was on his way to the Lab, He got another notification.

This one was from one of the Hanger crews. It seemed that there was another shipment for him.

So he changed his plans again and headed back to the Hanger.

While there, he saw a few people and a huge container with them. He recognized the logo on the container and could guess what it was.

So he approached the representative of the group.

"Hello, Mr. Thiels. We have a shipment for you. Dr. York has sent us." The guy in charge said.

"I see. Do you know what's inside?" Kita asked as he looked at the Huge container behind them.

The silver colored high-tech container was even bigger and more powerful than the ones he had received in the morning. It was probably about 20 meters in height.

The Logo on the container was of the Kbom High-tech industries. Kita could recognize it anywhere. It seemed that this was the thing York had spoken about.

"I'm sorry, we're not privy to that information. As we're but in charge of delivering this to you." The guy said while smiling.

So Kita signed the required documents and completed the handover.

He didn't need to check the condition. Because the container itself was just that good. It was a more expensive version of what the Novagen Scientific used. So it was better in almost every aspects.

After the delivery people had gone, Kita approached the huge metallic container.

He approached the small interface on it's body.

He pressed a few buttons before he was prompted to authenticate himself. As he entered his biometrics, the container recognized him and authorized him to see more information about it.

The First thing Kita looked at was what was inside the Container. Neither York nor the delivery people knew about the contains of the container, But the container must surely know right?

As Kita read through the contains of the container, he became surprised.

It seemed that Dr. Kbom had sent him an FTL drive!

He remembered that he had asked for a recommendation from him as he was one of the supreme authorities about FTL drives, but he didn't expect him to just send him an FTL drive.

Well, He felt warm seeing the consideration from Dr. Kbom.

His mentor had always treated him right. And always protected him when he made a mistake or provoked someone he shouldn't have. But most of all, Dr. Kbom was like a father figure to him.

His heart filled with gratitude seeing that even after leaving his service, Dr. Kbom didn't throw him away.

He quickly set aside the Container before promptly returning to the Lab.

After he got there, He quickly gave Dr. Kbom a call. He half expected to reach go to Voicemail.

But after a few seconds, he picked up.

Kita could guess from his background that he was probably in a lab somewhere.

"Hello Proffessor. How've you been?" Kita greeted him with a smile.

"Kita, my boy. Fine fine. How've you been? Has York given you the thing yet?"

"Yes, I just received it. Thank you for the gift."

"Don't mention it. It's of no value to me anyway. Use it wisely. It's not your average FTL drive though. So read through he manual before trying to use it."

"Huh? What do you mean by that? Is it not a standard model?"

"Standard model? Oh no! It's a special prototype for the next generation of FTL drives. It has a few special features that makes it unique and more powerful than anything on or off the market. Don't worry about the safety. I've made sure that it's safe for regular operations."

"What?"

Kita couldn't believe what he was hearing. A special prototype of the next generation FTL drives were not something someone would just give away casually.

"Are you trying to get me to test it for you professor?" Kita asked skeptically.

"You can say it like that! Anyway, use it well, and send me the logs okay?" Dr. Kbom said while grinning playfully. It seemed that Kita had been played.
