14 Demands and damn demands

"The food is a bit salty."

Alexander commented after sipping his black coffee which Sophie made for herself but unfortunately ended in his cup.

He was leaning against the empty kitchen wall enjoying his good serving of black coffee.

Little did he even notice that he was falling for its very taste.

Sophie on the other hand was on the verge of eruption.

She was breathing fire.

She was tired, hungry, and frustrated.

A not so good combination of human emotions and desire.

She clenched her fist harder.

"You said we need to talk, your highness?"

"Oh! I hate runny eggs. Can you make it more solid next time?" He continued.

Her eyes narrowed.

"I think I would like some haggis for lunch tomorrow too."

That's it.

Enough!

Sophie gathered all the strength she could get, filled her lungs with air and with one strong jab, her closed fist landed against the wall just right next to Alexander's face.

He gasped slightly.

"T-The black coffee is spotless, though." He added as his voice trembled.

He never saw that coming. His gaze followed her bleeding knuckles leave the blood-stained wall and settled on her side.

"That sure hurts."

She glowered at him looking straight into his deadpan face.

"Are you done?"

"I-I think so."

She stepped forward and lean to him. She raised her left fist again, just enough so he can see it on his eye level.

He was taller than her, all right!

But Sophie Adams never back down.

He could be a giant but she got her strengths and brains with her.

"The next time I let go of this, I'll make sure it'll land on your face." Her face was so serious she'll definitely do it if he still didn't get her message.

"Fine." He simply dodged her fist and glided back to the sofa as if nothing happened.

Sophie's nose was flaring with anger as she followed him.

He's not taking her seriously.

Damn!

"Now, talk."

"Sit down." He commanded as he sat down on the left side of the sofa.

"I don't want to sit down!"

He scowled.

"Two words. Sit. Down."

She gritted her teeth.

Why is he acting as if he's the upset one?

She's supposed to be the one person in the room who should be upset and not him!

This bossy, demanding asshole in front of her is driving her nuts!

"You're testing my patience, dork!"

Alexander raised his index finger.

"First, I have a name. It's Alexander. Though, I'm not quite sure if it's my real name since I cannot remember but I would prefer that name than you calling me dork. Thank you."

"Dork!"

He cleared his throat.

"Second, as what you promised to Officer Greg, while I am still recuperating from my accident and working on my memories, allow me to stay here with you."

"Who are you to demand?"

He shook his head. "You see these?" He proudly flexed his injuries again. "I told Officer Greg to check on me tomorrow and see how we're adjusting. I'm sure you don't want him to think that we didn't get along too well, huh?"

She screamed out of so much frustration.

He gave her a mocking smile.

"Third, I want my breakfast hot and prepared by 7 AM, lunch at half past 11 and dinner by six. I don't forgive late."

"Damn you!"

"Fourth, clean up your room. I just found out today that I hate dirt and messy places."

That's it!

With one jab, her fist finally reached his face this time. Only, she stopped one inch away from his nose.

His eyes widened.

He can see her bleeding and tore skin up close.

"One more demand and you'll leave my house with a broken nose. Like that?"

He swallowed a big lump on his throat but laughed it away.

"I never imagined a tiny girl like you could be so aggressive and violent."

"Only when certain circumstances call for it."

"But I'm only stating my demands. How come you got so worked up by these trivial things?"

Last chance.

She didn't care anymore if she'll end up killing him tonight.

Her patience already reached its limit.

Plus, she's tired, sleepy, and totally provoked.

And she hated him every single second that passed.

"Try me?"

He smiled. Then he wrapped her bloodied fist within his one hand and hostaged it.

Her hand disappeared in an instant within his massive palm.

She tried to pull it but his grip tightened more.

"You could have forgotten but let me remind you, I'm still a man."

"So?"

"I don't look like it but I'm still bigger and stronger than you, little princess."

"You sure about that?"

"Yeah." He smiled lopsidedly.

"Yeah?"

"Sure, yeah."

She sneered.

Then she made her move.

He groaned.

The next thing he knew, he was already lying on the floor, on a fetal-like position, his neck veins were bulging, his cheeks were puffing, and he was clutching something on his core as he keeps on blowing and breathing heavily.

"Curse you witch!"

"What did you say again, dork?"

Smiling, Sophie rested her back against the soft back rest of her sofa, raised her legs and comfortably laid there.

"At last! A sole ownership of my two-seater sofa." She closed her eyes and enjoyed her moment in there.

Never had she imagined that she'd appreciate her old, cheap, but precious sofa like this.

She took a peek below her and saw Alexander still groaning in pain as he rolled back and fro on the floor.

"Tell me once you're ready to talk, your highness."

She stretched her arms and back.

It will take a while before he recovers. After all, she used her most potent move on him.

'You deserve it, dork!'

She then closed her eyes again and breathed slowly. Her day was long but she didn't expect that her night would be longer.

Her breathing was calmer and more relaxed when she felt something warm landed on her right leg.

It was Alexander.

He quietly crawled back to the side of the sofa and suddenly grabbed Sophie's leg.

Shocked, Sophie's reflexes kicked in.

She literally kicked him on the jaw.

"Ouch!!!"

"Oh! I'm sorry but I meant that." She tucked her knees closed to her chest and prodded her chin over her knee caps. "Now, between the two of us, who do you think should be more demanding, huh?"

He glared at her while chanting some curses.

"I'm getting back at you. You just wait."

"Oh! That scares me. What else can you do aside from limping on the floor like a salted earthworm?"

He cursed her again.

She laughed sarcastically.

"Listen. Since you laid your demands, I supposed you should hear my demands too."

He just kept on glaring at her.

"First, you're going to tell Greg that you had a little accident here at home while I was away for work. Just a little white lie to explain those." She pointed her finger to his injuries. "Never! And I mean never ever mention to him that I hit you because, truthfully, I didn't."

"Go to hell."

"You take the lead. I'll follow." She flicked her two fingers. "Second, no work, no food rule. If you're thinking that you can freeload here, then you are wrong. Besides, you have to pay back for your hospital bills. I'm not going to pay it for you at all cost, okay?"

"Third, I want you to clean the storage room and sleep there. Not because I let you sleep in my own room for one night, I'll let you sleep there forever. Like duh?" She rolled her eyeballs. "You gotta pay your rent, of course! I don't know how long or short I have to take you in so let's be logical and practical here, your highness."

"Fourth, starting today, I'm the boss here and not you. You cannot demand. You cannot complain. You cannot rebut. Just follow everything I say so we can live a peaceful and harmonious life together as housemates, deal?"
