Born To Become King

Cole Desmond is a 29-year-old orphan, and having lost his parents in front of him 10 years ago, he had been plagued with guilt and trauma since. Dedicating the rest of his life to video games, he grinds out the game, "World of Venir" - an immersive role-playable world, where the player could decide the ending. After playing for so long, it was only time until he had tried out every single ending with every single character possible. While playing, he pitifully dies a lonely death and gets reincarnated into a world based on his favourite game. Only one problem, he has reincarnated into the one player he has never played before! Tasked with the mission of attaining world domination, how will, now Vincent Dracyian, survive a world full of magic, demons, and Gods? _____ I do not own this cover, if you would like me to take it down, please let me know. New Character Unlocked

"It seems that this world is destined for failure, and there is nothing I can do about it..."

Within the midst of a cloudy dimension above the skies, an ethereal being muttered to herself, placing the palm of her hand beneath her chin.

"...Hmmph... And I really liked this world as well... it is a shame that there is no order or justice here, and all the people who do have power, lack the ambition to correct the world..."

The saintly being was sitting down on a hovering cloud, looking down into a gap between the cloudy floor, which was reflecting all time and space in a puddle.

She could see a birdseye view of the world, the past, the present and the future, and every being who lived their lives without knowing they were being watched.

The ethereal being looked to be a woman who was in her prime 20s, having a figure that belittled all celebrities.

Her thighs and body were covered by a silky white cloth, only revealing skin from above her neckline and shoulders. She also had long, cascading silver hair, complementing her pale and elegant face and was sat in a way that only accentuated her seductive stature.

The only places that gave off colour from her body were her beaming golden eyes and her soft red lips.

"Now, I would try and help the world if I could, but those annoying higher-ups don't like us gods messing around with the flow of our dimension."

For every world in a dimension, there was always a god who protected and oversaw everything that happened.

To stop gods from needlessly messing with people's lives, the higher gods created the Akashic Records, capable of recording everything in existence.

The Akashic Record was a sentient being and ensured that every dimension's god did not interfere with the inhabitants of the world. It even created a failsafe in case a god did manage to interfere, where it would then mercilessly start an apocalypse.

This was what prevented this ethereal being from helping.

"Haaaa... if only I could go send someone there to help for myself... just like those 'Isekai stories' the Akashic Records had showed me..."

[That is possible.]

"Huh... REALLY!?"

[That is possible.]

[I am able to transfer and reincarnate a dying soul from another dimension, keeping their memories mostly intact. However, it would not be enough to protect them through the dimension transfer, therefore, I would recommend placing blessings for your proxy before he enters this world.]

[This would not count as directly interfering with the world, so should I continue to do so?]

"Hmmm... so... will it be any old soul arriving here?"

[I already have a soul in mind for the transfer, he will not be ready for world domination from the start, but I have plans to personally grow his potential.]

[Should I continue to do so?]

"Very well, I allow permission for my blessings to be used."

The ethereal being had a mysterious smile on her face, as she elegantly got up to peer deeper into the ominous puddle, pulling away her hair to behind her ear.

"Vincent Dracyian huh... I look forward to meeting you..."

BEEP BEEP

BEEP BEEP

BEEEP BEEEEEEP

BAM.

"Ha... haa... what the heck was that dream. It seemed so... real."

I had just slammed down on my alarm clock, and it was now 4:00 pm.

My name is Cole Desmond, a 29-year-old orphan, living alone off of my parents' life insurance money.

My family used to be fairly affluent, and as an only child, I was never shown any lack of affection.

Before they died in a pitiful car crash, my life had a normal, and decent upbringing.

That was until I became 19 when my parents had been driving home for my birthday, and had been rammed by an incoming truck driver.

I still vividly remember the scene of waiting outside of the gates to our house, waving at my parents as they were a street away from entering the driveway.

They had been smiling happily and forgot to notice the full-speed truck coming at them from the side.

BAAMMM.

A hideous sight appeared between the collision and the car did a full flip in the other direction.

I could see the faces of my parents wide-eyed in shock, and pieces of glass shards shattered across the debris.

They had already died.

No last words.

Nothing.

From that day, I had hidden myself within the house from trauma, blaming myself for distracting them from driving.

My parents had already bought the property beforehand, and I lived off their life insurance money purely for necessities.

I could only distract myself by playing games, secluding myself from society.

This was how I lived for 10 years.

I still somehow had one family maid who bothered to stay after I fired them all, and she had taken care of me when I could not be bothered to.

CREEEAKK...

A head popped up behind my door.

"Hey... Cole... if you still are going to play games today, go take a shower please..."

The maid was a meek girl, who still cared enough to take care of the house.

She was a few years younger than me and attended a university as a student.

Somehow, she still had enough time to be here.

In the end, I decided to pay her for her efforts, as I still had retained enough morality.

"Alright..."

"I'll also heat up some food, so make sure to take it from the oven"

Getting up, I put away my clothes on top of my chair and headed for a shower.

******

After I had changed into some clothes the maid had left me before leaving, I went to sit on my computer and started up my favourite game.

"World Of Venir..."

This game had kept me busy for most of these years, and I had dedicated a good few years of my life to it.

The game was an immersive roleplay game, famous for each of their characters having their own personality.

I now knew this game almost inside out, as I had played every playable character possible.

And, I was not joking when I said I knew the game inside out, because I had played every possible character, with every possible ending, at least 5 times each.

"Haaaa... Today, I will try to finish the main character's original ending route in 24 hours. I believe that the game said that I could unlock a new character if I finished it 7 times, so I might as well do that."

And so began my gaming session. While I was playing, I felt disconnected from time, as if I was in the world with the characters. The day eventually became night and became day again.

I noticed that the maid wasn't here right now, and was probably staying at a dorm at her university.

"Huaaahh... Finally, I'm done! I can finally unlock the new character!"

GRRRBBB

I could hear my stomach rumbling.

"Woah, I really didn't eat anything the whole day, wasn't the maid meant to prepare something?"

It was then that I could smell something burning coming from downstairs.

Before I knew it, the whole house had been full of smoke and had started to invade my room.

"Cough cough... seriously? How did I not notice this?"

My room had already begun to somehow catch fire, and I was trapped inside.

"Well, shit."

As I tried to take off my gaming headphones, I staggered and tripped on a burning wire beneath the chair.

"AAAUUGH."

Fate really wasn't working with me today.

My skin had begun to burn, and I had just hurt my ankle.

Hunger and pain started to cloud my mind, as my clothes started to catch fire, producing smoke and making it hard to breathe.

'Seriously? This is how I die?'

As I looked up from my floor in my final breaths, I could see that I had pulled a 5 star potential character, and that it was unlocked from the computer screen.

'Vincent... Dracyian...?'

[Soul's death confirmed. Beginning dimension transfer.]
