Chapter 27: The Special Tree

I was the only one able to go because it wasn't known on what would happen if anyone else touched it. So I cautiously went toward the tree and put my right hand on it. My hand touching the tree was starting to get the purple veins again but I didn't care. Something inside told me it will be ok. I turned around and saw my family looking worried so I mouthed I would be ok. I saw jay's head nod like he understood.

Twenty minutes later she let go and collapsed. Everyone saw it. Jay was about to run over when they saw someone or something come out of the tree. That someone or something turned her over and helped her recover. "Hmm." She fluttered her eyes open to try to figure out what happened. "Hello. Who are you?" "Ah well when you touched the tree I was able to come out. You helped free me. So I helped you recover. Now I can't use my power anymore but its ok it was part of the legend. It was meant to happen. My name is Arson. There are only few of my kind left. Many people think we are already extinct but we are still around. Only few of us. I am supposed to be half human and half demon. We are good demons though. I guess some would think it weird but as you saw I helped you. I have to make sure I shave my horns when they grow. Luckily when I was in the tree they didn't grow." "I've never heard t he legend. I grew up with normal people. I am part human and mostly elf. So it gave me the same feeling as a real elf even as severe. So I was worried I would die." "Yeah well you didn't know you were to chosen one to free me. Since you don't know about the legend. Maybe I can tell you and your family. Now that I am out, the tree won't hurt anyone." "Thank you." "NO thank you for freeing me." He helped me sit up slowly and took me to my family.

"Jay!" I ran to him and hugged him. He hugged me back. "Are you ok Talia?" "Yes I'm fine." "She is find sir. My name is Arson. I was trapped in that tree for ages and she set me free. I healed her so she wouldn't worsen." "Thank you Arson." "NO problem." "Oh sorry. My name is prince Jay." "Oh excuse me. Your highness." "No formalities its fine. We all consider you a friend now." Then I introduced the kids and the baby. He said it was nice to meet us then we as a family gathered around with Arson and he told us the legend of how he was stuck in there and the chosen one which happened to be me set him free.

"Ok well it happed 200 years ago. Yeah we demons live a long time. The longest we have lived is over 500 years. Time didn't move for me in the tree so I am still 200 years old. But I look 16. So that would mean my brother is 196 now. He will probably look like a 12 year old. Ok so now lets get to the story. Well I was a trouble maker as a kid before I was put in here. Then one day I did something stupid that a wizard put me in the tree and told me in 200 years the chosen one would come and save me. He said that they would teach me what I needed to know and they would take me back home to the others a changed person." "If you don't mind us asking, what exactly did you do to end up in there?" said Arion. "Haha you really want to know?" "Yes please." Said Kida. "OK ok. Just promise me that you will never do it ok? Cause if there are any wizards still alive no matter who they are human or some other creature they would have to suffer some consequences. Ok so here we are let me tell you. I was forced to steal something important from the higher ups. I didn't know how important it was or what would happen if it got into the wrong hands. Sigh. It was partly my fault that there are few of us left. Before I was put into that tree the last think I remember was chao's. Because of what I had stolen. It got into the wrong hands. I won't know who is alive until I go back. I hope my parents and little brother are around still. Well anyway do you mind taking in another teenager?" I looked at Jay. "Yeah sure it would be fine with us. Although in the next year or 2 I will be moving to this kingdom. We are here visiting family." "Oh I see. That's cool. Hopefully it won't be that long before I can return home." "I'm sure it won't." So we all walked back to my mom's house.

"Hey mom we are back. We brought a friend with us." "Oh hello there. You must be Arson right? from the legend?" "How did you know?" "I've been around longer than these young ones have known. Plus you look like the person in the book." "Yeah I'm Arson." "I always knew that my daughter would be the chosen one, one day. Just call me grandma. Like the kids that look your age do." "Yes grandma. Thank you." "No problem." "Oh another thing I forgot to tell you. Back before I was put it the tree, the tree had a spell on it to keep certain people away. As you have guessed elves. It was made to keep evil elves away. The tree was very special back then. When I was inside because of me the tree still had the spell. Once I came out I guess the power stopped. I may have ended up with the power now." "How can you be so sure?" "I just know. Anyway so I heard you have brothers?" "Oh yes they will be back in a few minutes." A few minutes later I saw Indigo and Derion walk in. "Oh Hi brothers this is Arson. He is a half demon." "Cool!" said Derion. "I've always wanted to meet a demon." "Yeah us too." said Adrian. "So other than living a long time what do demons do for fun?" said Kida. "Well a lot like normal people really. I act like a teenager still. As for our jobs, they are a little different than normal humans. Some humans can't see us because they don't believe weather they believe or not when we are a certain age we are assigned a human. Well some of us anyway others have other abnormal jobs compared to what you are used to. I won't be assigned a human because I am half human. The humans and half humans don't get assigned they get to pull a job out of a had type of thing." "Oh sounds boring." Said Adrian. "Not getting to pick what you want." "Yeah I remember telling my dad that too. Hehe well who knows what will happen when I get back." "Well I hope it goes well."

Finally it was time to go back home. We were offered a carriage and we took it since we had the baby and Arson.

"Finally we are home." Said kida. "I'm going to lay down I'm tired." "Hehe you look it." said Arson. "I'll see you all when you get rest ok?" "See you Arson." Said Adrian. "Yeah see you Adrian." "Ok let me introduce you to my uncle who I call dad because he raised me as his own. My mother who is my aunt as well. Oh and my siblings." "Ok sure." "Oh hey butler Rin. Have you seen the king?" "Yes he is in his study your highness." "Thank you." "No problem." I stopped at his door and saw guards there. "Can you please tell the king that his sister is here?" "Yes your highness. Your majesty. Her highness princess Talia is here to see you with a guest." "Let her in."

"I'm finally home brother. This is Arson. He is the half demon from the legend. I was the one who let him out. Apparently I was the chosen one." "haha is that so. I remember reading about a legend about a half demon trapped in a tree. Nice to meet you Arson." He shook his hand. "Thank you your majesty." Arson bowed. "No need when we are alone. So will he be staying here for the time being?" "Yes brother I hope its ok." "Its fine as long as he doesn't cause trouble." Oh I forgot to mention Arson looks like a human but has horns on his forehead that were never grown since he was in a tree. He has long red hair to his mid back and 2 scars on left cheek he has normal skin color like us. He also has a tail. The tail matches his skin color.

"Before anything bad happens though, I probably should announce something. So nothing causes trouble." "Yes good idea lets do that now. "Ladies and gentleman. I have an announcement to make. We will be having a half demon staying at the castle for the time being. Please be nice to him. That is all." "Thank you brother. Can we go now?" "Wait just a minute. The legend says that you have to teach him something is that correct?" "Yes it does. Once he learns it he can go back home." "I have been keeping up with the demon village ever since I heard the legend. I have even talked to a few people." "Has anyone mentioned my name or my family? My moms name is Moria, my dad's name is Blaze and my little brother Azazel." "I haven't heard your parents names, but I have heard of a name Azazel." "Is he ok?" "I heard he was severely hurt but looks like he will survive." "That's good to know." "Ok well. Once he gets settled take him to your study and teach him whatever it is you need to teach him. If you need help call me or Jay or anyone in the castle. They will be willing." "Thank you your majesty." "Ok go on now." WE both left and we had a butler show him to his room and I followed. Once he settled down it was time to go to my study.

"Ok Arson. I'm still trying to think of what it is I am supposed to teach you. I'm sure he wanted me to figure it out myself. How was your childhood when you were growing up?" "It was fine. Any normal family as you would say would have." "Hmm. I'm trying to think that maybe what I am supposed to teach you has something to do with your trouble making. Do you remember who it was that forced you to steal?" I saw he looked nervous and didn't want to talk about it right now. So I said, "You don't have to tell me now. Tell me when you are ready." "Thank you." "So why do you cause so much trouble for everyone? Is it demon nature? Or is it just ? Or is it just you?" "Haha I've heard that before." "Oh I'm sorry." "Its ok. Its fine. NO its not demon nature. Its just my personality." "Tell me Arson. If you could have a choice to choose a job what would you want to be?" "Well before when I was causing trouble I was helping out the wizard who put me in here until like I said I was forced to steal some important documents." "I see so do you want to be a wizard then?" "Ha like a demon can become a wizard. I would be the first one." "Is that why you cause trouble for everyone? Because you think they should choose what they want right?" "Something like that." "Well what If you can have that power? The only one who can do that is the village elder right?" "Why didn't I think of that. Your right." "Well I have some other things to teach you but for right now we can stop early. I'm tired. Oh also its strange. Ever since I let you out something has been bothering me. It's the tree. I think there is something more to it." "Yeah there might be. I don't know much about it myself. No one does." "Ok well I'm going to bed please be nice to people I'm sure my Kids are up by now. You should find my husband prince Jay in the garden at this time." "Ok I will. Thank you princess Talia." "Hmm. NO problem."

I went to my room to get some shut eye. When she was sleeping she had a dream. It was about the tree.

(Inside Talia's head)

"Talia. Come here." I looked around not recognizing where I was. "Hello? Is someone there?" "You have finally come. Thankyou for letting that little the half demon out. He is a sweet boy he just has issues." "Your welcome. Excuse me but who are you?" "Oh excuse me I forgot to introduce myself. I am a goddess. My name is Harona. I know it's a dfferent name right? I don't know why I was given this name. Ok so I sometimes go into peoples dreams and help them. I am here to tell you more. You said you were having strange feelings about the tree since he escaped am I right?" "Yes goddess." "Oh you can call me Rona everyone else does. So as for your feelings from the tree, there is a reason for it. What that child said is true about what happened to him. About the tree though. It may look normal now but there is something more to that tree. You are the only one that can touch the tree right now. Since that boy is out, once you touch it again its like a portal. The only other one who can go in is Arson. If you hold his hand or as long as your touching him its safe for him. It will take you to where you need to go. When you go in make sure you talk to a man named Ani. He is the wizard that put Arson in here in the first place." "Wait you mean Ani. As in…" "Yes Ani as in the great Ani." "Oh wow. I've heard stories of him. I never knew he was the one that put Arson in there. He's usually a sweet guy." "Oh he is. He was just teaching that kid a lesson. Your job as well. I can't tell you what it is either I'm afraid. You will figure it out too I'm sure." "Well ok then. As for the tree." "Oh Ani will tell you more about it as well. Looks like someone is worried about you. I better let you get back. Time moves quicker out there then in here where its slower. You have been asleep for quite a long time. Its already dark." "Oh no. Yes please send me Back." "I will return only when there is need of me. May we meet again in the future." The goddess touched me there was a bright light then darkness.

(Back to reality)

"Talia. Talia honey are you ok? Talia please wake up." "Hmm. Ow my head." "Does your head hurt? Should I call the doctor back?" "What? No I'll be fine. you called the doctor before?" "Yeah you were asleep for a long time and your face was red. You had a slight fever. Luckily it didn't get worse." "Hmm. OK let me rest until tomorrow then I will be fine. Before that I need to talk to Arson. He can have dinner in here with us while the kids have dinner in the dining room with the others." "Ok I will go get it." I laid back down in relief.
