Thea's POV
My mother always told me I took after my grandfather; warm, auburn hair with miscolored eyes. I've always been ashamed of my appearance, my freckled face and eyes that seemed to stand out too much; I grew up different than all the other girls, with straight blonde hair and pretty blue eyes. I always wished I was normal like them. I prayed for those common brown eyes, and for an unblemished face.
Growing up, my classmates would always make fun of me for having red hair, pasty skin, and 'alien eyes'.
