A change of heart

Julian's mind was made up. He didn't care about his parents' plans or Mia's qualifications. He wanted Emily, and no one else.

"Mother, Father," Julian said, his voice firm and resolute, a hint of sarcasm creeping into his tone. "I've made my decision. I want to marry Emily, not Mia. You know, Mia's elder sister? The one you barely noticed the other day?"

His parents' faces fell, shock and disbelief etched on their features. "But Julian, Mia is a perfect match for you," his mother protested, her voice laced with confusion. "What do you mean she's Emily's sister?"

Julian's smile was dripping with sarcasm. "Oh, come on, Mother. You didn't even notice her the other day. She was right in front of you, and you were too busy fawnings over Mia to even register her presence."

His father cleared his throat, a disapproving look on his face. "Julian, that's enough. We're trying to have a serious conversation here."

Julian's eyes locked onto Emily's, who was watching the scene unfold with a mixture of surprise and curiosity. "I'm making a serious decision, Father. I want to spend the rest of my life with Emily, not Mia. And that's final."

The room fell silent, the tension palpable. Emily's eyes were fixed on Julian's, her expression unreadable. Julian's parents looked at each other, then back at their son, their faces etched with disappointment and frustration.

But Julian didn't budge. He knew what he wanted, and he was determined to get it. Emily, and only Emily.
