Yu Xiulan's complete focus was on Jiang Yingyue, who was focused on Han Qingshan. Han Qingshan's focus was on Yu Xiulan, and like this, all of them were looking at another person.
Jiang Yingyue felt a tinge of pain in her heart when she noticed that Han Qingshan's eyes were glancing at Yu Xiulan, and she was surprised to sense this sudden discomfort.
Jiang Yingyue was not stupid, and she understood these emotions quite well. It was not that she had experienced them before, but she had heard about them.
Although she had not fallen in love with Han Qingshan yet, she understood that this was the prelude to love, and it was as if she had gotten an epiphany.
Her heart was restless, and she grew worried. She lived life as a man, how could she possibly fall in love? She had walked through these nine years without falling in love even once, but now she had already started to fall for a young man she had not known for long?
A red tint appeared on her cheeks, and she lowered her head as she was deep in thought, every action caught by both Han Qingshan and Yu Xiulan.
However, both of them had different reactions to the display of bashfulness that Jiang Yingyue was currently showing.
Han Qingshan had previously thought that Jiang Yingyue was gay, but now he started to reevaluate his impression. He thought that it was because of Yu Xiulan that he was blushing and his heart felt uneasy and uncomfortable. In his heart, Jiang Yingyue could only be his. Maybe not a lover, but he was at least his personal friend.
Yu Xiulan saw it differently. She had observed Jiang Yingyue since they met earlier on the ground floor, and no matter what she had done, she had been completely unmoved. Now that she was in front of Han Qingshan, she was blushing like a small school girl experiencing her first love. Were these not the signs of a gay couple?
Yu Xiulan was not feeling happy; in fact, she felt sour. She suddenly understood why her appearance had no way of influencing Jiang Yingyue; because she liked men!
She suddenly remembered the insinuations of the message that the secretary had sent out, that Jiang Yingyue was in a relationship with Han Qingshan, and her face twisted for a brief moment before she quickly changed it back to her usual friendly mask.
She also noticed that Han Qingshan had his usual friendly smile on his face as he reached out his hand and gently ruffled Jiang Yingyue's hair. A chuckle rumbled through his chest, and he spoke up. "Sit on the sofa," he said to him, "I will be done soon, then we can go shopping before going home. I do not think we have any more groceries left in the fridge."
Although it sounded very casual, Han Qingshan was doing everything in his power to make Yu Xiulan understand that this person belonged to him, that they were in some sort of ambiguous relationship, and that they even lived together.
Song Liwei felt like face-palming himself. He could not help but think that his dear young master was starting to become far too obsessive over this young man that had appeared out of nowhere a short while ago.
Yu Xiulan's face paled when she saw the intimate gesture that Han Qingshan made, and even more so when she heard the words he spoke.
Han Qingshan was a sacred person in the hearts of many women. It was well known that he was not a lustful man who was easily swayed by beautiful women. In fact, no beautiful woman had ever managed to succeed in climbing into his bed, and he usually kept a distance from them.
But now, Yu Xiulan was told that he was living together with a young woman? And the tenderness in his eyes when he was caressing her head was simply not something you would see from a friend.
Jiang Yingyue was too busy thinking about her emotions to consider what Han Qingshan's actions meant.
She just obediently nodded her head and went to the sofa, sat down, rested her elbows on her legs, and her head in her hands.
Her eyes did not leave Han Qingshan as she was busy analyzing all the encounters she had had with him, and she could not help but sigh. It made sense that she had fallen for him.
He was so friendly and warm towards her, he protected her, cared for her, and was closer to her than any other person she had known for the past nine years, not counting her parents.
Han Qingshan also sensed her gaze that never left him, and he saw that she was sitting deep in thought, so he smiled slightly. As long as her gaze never parted from him, he would feel much more comfortable.
Yu Xiulan noticed it as well, and although she was still smiling warmly, her hands were clenched so tightly that her nails dug into her palms, blood almost oozing out.
She originally had the plan of using Jiang Yingyue to get close to Han Qingshan, but now she was wondering if this was even possible.
She was unsure of how to move forward. What should she do to become Mrs. Han? She was not sure, but she would not give up.
After contemplating, she decided to keep her original plan. Even if Han Qingshan had a relationship with Jiang Yingyue, then she could use Jiang Yingyue even better than if they did not have a relationship.
Making Jiang Yingyue say positive things about her to Han Qingshan would be very useful, not to mention, she might even end up visiting his house since they seemingly lived together.
