Taranis furrowed his brows as he watched the trudging creature from a distance. It barely lifted its feet as it walked and kept its head lowered, not evening bothering to turn around even after Taranis threw a small rock at its head.
'Is it ignoring me?' Taranis internally questioned. 'With its heightened senses, it should've heard my footsteps behind it.' He narrowed his eyes at the creature's back, 'But more importantly, where is it going?'
"N-Nancy," he heard the creature mutter with longing before picking up the speed of its steps.
Taranis looked ahead at where it was headed and saw a small group of teenagers just outside the darkness. 'Those must be his friends.'
His gaze traveled each of their faces before focusing on the weeping woman who knelt in sorrow on the ground. "She must be this Nancy person he keeps saying with such longing. Their love must've been true for him to long for her even in death."
