Chapter 7 Is this for me

Eddie sighed. "Sophie please can you get me a cup of coffee, I'll be waiting here".

Eddie was scared that if she didn't send Sophie away and she saw her entering that car everyone in the company would probably say she had a sugar daddy without understanding.

Sophie frowned but still went. "Okay".

Eddie made sure no one was watching her before putting on her coat and her sunglasses so no one would recognise her.

"Next time don't come with such an expensive car to pick me up". Eddie said as soon as she entered the car.

Stuart didn't reply but asked. "What took you so long".

"Am I supposed to explain myself to you. You called by 5pm to say you were  downstairs when we agreed on 7pm and you expect me to just stop what I was doing and come down to you immediately". Eddie snapped.

She was breathless after saying strings of word without stopping.

There was no response after she finished talking, the car was quiet and the air was increasingly oppressing.

After a while Eddie couldn't bear it anymore and asked. "Where are we going".

"We'll get there soon was the answer she got.

Meanwhile Sophie got back with the coffee and couldn't find Eddie.

"Huh, were did sister Eddie go". Sophie said to her self looking around.

Inadvertently she also looked to the side and noticed that the luxurious car was also gone.

Seeing that she frowned in regret. "I didn't get the chance to see who that car came to wait for. Oh I can ask sister Eddie tomorrow if she saw which entered that car".

Soon the car came to a stop, Eddie got down and took in her surroundings.

The place was very unfamiliar with a mall or something in front of her that looked like it had been there for ages.

"Where are we?". Eddie asked with doubt.

Stuart took her hand and went in. Eddie tried to pull out her hand but the grip just got tighter.

"You're hurting me". Eddie had to say at last when she saw that she couldn't pull out her hand.

Stuart released his grip but didn't let go of her hand.

"Welcome Mr Gray". The attendant in the mall said to Stuart.

Eddie looked around shocked and amazed. This place was indescribable in words.

The interior was totally different from the exterior.

It was like a palace filled with treasures disguised from the outside to look like an abandoned building so as not to draw unwanted attention.

"Oh my gosh this place is gorgeous". Eddie muttered.

One of the attendants took her to a room for makeup and the place was simply exquisite.

They made her long brown hair into a wavy one. Her face was already beautiful so it didn't need much makeup they just had to touch it up.

When Eddie was done with her makeup,a dress was placed in front of her.

It was a soft blue gown which was soft to the touch.

It had a slit from the lower hip downwards which complimented her well accentuated figure. It was like it was custom made for her.

"Miss,the dress fits you well".

"Thanks".

Eddie came out of the room slowly and instinctively blurted out. "How do I look?".

Immediately after she finished saying that she wished she could cut off her tongue.

She had never gone out a without her friend Melissa to shop for clothes so she was used to asking her every time she tried on a new dress 'how do I look?'.

But she made a grave mistake this time in asking her arch enemy Stuart how she looked.

Geez why is my tongue so loose. I need to think seriously before I talk from now on. Eddie thought to herself.

Stuart raised on eyebrow. "Not bad".

Eddie shot him daggers with her eyes. If eyes could kill this guy would had probably been riddled with holes.

What did he mean not bad, I can turn heads if I pass by the street, okay! Not some ugly duckling that put on makeup and a beautiful dress.

Stuart signalled to the attendant and he brought a velvet red box over and Stuart opened it.

Eddie drew in a sharp breath, it was extremely breathtaking.

It was a necklace studded with tiny exquisitely made diamonds and in the centre was a pinkish diamond made into a heart shape.

Eddie wondered who could own that necklace. The person must be rich.

Stuart stood up and walked to Eddie, he used one hand to sweep her hair to one side and put on the necklace for her.

Eddie was confused. "Is this necklace for me?".

"Yes". Stuart answered.

"You look gorgeous, by the way". Stuart whispered near her ear.

Eddie froze feeling the hot air caressing her neck, she was blushing furiously.

Eddie get yourself together why would you react so much from such a small compliment. She scolded herself.

She looked up to see Stuart carrying a faint smile on his face.

Stuart was feeling pleased with his self for making her blush.

"I could have worn it myself  you known?". Eddie said to ease her embarrassment.
